A forgotten film from the depression about an elderly couple that has lost their home to a bank foreclosure. Their five children are unable to keep their parents together, and have them separated in different homes. They also began to show displeasure with having their children around and eventually, the elderly mother decides it’s best fit for her to move to a retirement home despite it being in poor condition. This film was the inspiration for Yasujiro Ozu’s 1953, “Tokyo Story” (x)
