i  headcanon that rhodey really does call up tabloids and make crazy shit up about tony just to fuck with him

if the tabloid isn’t run by J Jonah Jameson I’m gonna be very disappointed

imagine one day spidey is held up by the new york city police department, and he’s expecting the same old bullshit of “this stupid spider menace vigilante blah blah blah” like the cops in queens always say to him, but instead he’s met with a brooklyn cop who is less concerned with peter being a vigilante, and is more concerned with peter’s powers. he won’t stop asking peter about his spider powers, how they work, how he got them, how he would rate them on a scale of “cool” to “toit”

and finally peter gets a word in edgewise and is like “not that this isn’t refreshing compared to the way the police usually treat me, but what kinda cop are you again??” and the cop is like “i’m actually a detective, jake peralta from the 99th precinct. anyways can you summon an army of spiders or is that just a rumor?? oh my god can you talk to them, can you ask the spiders if they like die hard??”

You all: Spider-man Homecoming was so good! But we should have gotten a Miles Morales movie :( but Tom holland is SOOO cute and we FINALLY got a perfect peter Parker movie that really understands him!!!

People that read Ult. Spider-man: Homecoming ripped many crucial elements of Miles Morales’ story off to give to Peter in an attempt to make the story fresh and new. By doing this, Marvel could still have a revised take on a modern day spidey story but also play it safe by casting a white boy in the lead, even if that means glossing over the things that made Peter Parker an interesting character in the first place. But now when Miles’ story is adapted to the big screen, core aspects that are unique to his character and lore won’t feel as iconic, because we just saw them in Peter’s latest movie. But Tom Holland is likable enough to stop people from acknowledging these issues so Marvel can have its cake and eat it too

[Just watched Spiderman a few days ago and it got me out of the NDB-block funk. Some time between this update and the last, Steve and Bucky had moved back to New York. Since it’s set in a universe where Civil War didn’t actually happen, Spidey is still in his crappy costume.]

one of the weirdest things of 2017 is the cast of spiderman homecoming trying to convince us that the movie is so diverse when at the core of it (and playing the two only superheroes) are two white men

like nothing has changed they just put a bunch of poc surrounding them but like, i still have to watch some white pale boy save the day???? they dont get props for that. its still boring. fuck off.

esp when they literally stole Miles’s story and then slapped a white boy on top of it instead of just making Spider-Man black
