An Artsy Piranha

Been a few years since making a new one of these! Between Bluesky, Sheezy, and giving Cara a try too (once their servers stop screaming lol), I wanted to have something with a fresher coat of paint like this to post than resharing any of my older ones haha~

I started working on these blorbos at the s t a r t of the year and then a lOT of life happened, but I've still been thinking about them since January and finally sat down to finish figuring the fits out

All started from the what-if of making Goro a campy villain dad for an AU, an expanded into a full in-universe magical girl show that Kito loves to watch, the showrunners of which may or may not have taken irl inspiration from Goro an Kito themselves.

All five of the girls were inspired by traits from personal favorite franchises or guilty pleasure shows I grew up on, and also enjoyed in more recent years. So if someone some h o w knows all their actual inspos.

The one halloween tradition I had as a kid, and continue to this day, is rewatching the Scary Godmother specials. Was a small but very formative thing to both not feel left out on the season from other kids, but also is really telling for found family/monster family tropes that I like LOL

Halloween piece I'd sketched out last year, but only came around to finishing in this one.~ Got some of my main goobs dressed as the trio from Bug Fables- Kito's not a huge fan of the idea tho :P

tfw you're extra stressed out and spontaneously start a new hobby (The charms with black borders were on printed shrink paper, the chao & itchigotchi were traced for practice, and the other four charms were done from my own art for m o r e practice :P)

All these supplies were originally gonna be for charms on friendship bracelets, but I got addicted to just making the charms in of themselves because I already had tons of keyrings and things in my closet whoops

Still going strong with sonic AU stuff enough I wanted to color another recent sketch I had already sitting around for Kito. Figured out a really neat idea for harmonizing color palettes a bit more by using a gradient map made out of the bg colors, to refine the base colors on the character when they're added, and I'm really happy with the results~

Been a good couple of months since doing a new digital rendered piece, so I experimented with a few new things in the process! Also brought back an emphasis with hatchy texture lines because I consistently miss them everytime I try to do something else phfT

also if the proportions weren't a giveaway this is my goobers Kito n Goro but Sonic because I ca n (really need to draw their canon designs again but letting myself take advantage of the Sonic rot helping me slowly get back to drawing again since July~)

Been on a huge Sonic kick because of friends, aND genuinely playing Sonic Adventure 2 for my first time so I could experience the chao garden like I always wanted to as a kid, so here's some pixel art + pen sketches from the past week~ Also some random non-sonic stuff like some lil practice sketches of my baby Ori, and some stuff between me an my partner @ghostlyghosti 's cats again

The only two attacks I'd gotten out for artfight this year before the accident happened. I really like how these came out still, so's all the more reason to get back into playing with this style of sketches! Sharing some messy sketches while getting back in the swing of art for myself again~ Been really taken with sketching in pen this year since it feels like it helps force me to follow through on poses or expressions I'd otherwise scrap :P

My sona Plume it was specially refreshing visiting again with some very small tweaks to their facial features- inspired by an offshoot DND version of their design I also attached, that I'd made for a campaign I'm in with my partner @ghostlyghosti (who I'm tagging cause their bean Oswood makes a cameo in these lol)

TW: Car Accident

Was debating when/if to share this at all, but I feel more ready to than I did on the weekend. The TL;DR I am okay, but did want to put something out for my own self to acknowledge it.

Last Friday me and my grandmother were hit by a car. Her arm was broken and I came out with bruising across the waist, but we're otherwise okay. I've only been regularly driving for a few years- so I'd been overworried I was at fault with the accident from misjudging a turn, but got the news yesterday that confirmed the other driver was responsible.

I'm so so thankful to somehow be okay- it still feels dreamlike that it even happened, an anxiety's been a hot mess for trying to rest or to breathe, but recovery has been the best that it can be. <3

Needless to say any kinda art posts will be slow, an no idea if I'll do any pieces for Artfight now like I'd wanted, but I miss drawing like crazy so y'never know~

Spontaneous Doremi fanartttt

I had this sitting unfinished from when I was watching the first couple seasons of the show earlier this year/late last year, and I meant to make this into a fullillustration- but with how long it'd been sitting and a recent urge I had to practice with my style of sketches, I just went with a color sketch render instead.

I'm honestly really happy over how it turned out! I've been fussy what feels like a couple years over how I clean sketches up as a quicker shorthand style to larger rendered pieces. Kept trying to streamline all my work so it'd be easier to use f o r something larger if I wanted, but now I'm refinding the fun in letting a sketch just BE a sketch!
