i'm one hundred percent sure that aphrodite's approval is worth a lot. i don't think she approve someone just for being attractive, it goes further. you remember that moment in the titan's curse when aphrodite says that she would love the idea of one of her daughters could break the heart of a boy like percy, well that's it. if there is someone who cares for, loves and respects their children, it will be worthy of aphrodite's approval.

for example, jason. in the lost hero everyone, including her own daughter, changes their clothes. to improve them, make them reach their full beauty, instead, with jason, she simply cleans the clothes with which he met piper and leo, she does not give him a suit or comb it, she simply cleans it and gives him clean clothes. thus showing that she approves of it, aphrodite believes that he is worthy of being her daughter's boyfriend. because that boy is "perfect", he is handsome, powerful, talented, kind, and most importantly, he believes that her daughter is the most beautiful human being in the world.

she would never approve of someone who cheats on their children or someone who treats them like shit or someone who would not die for them, she thinks her children deserve the best, and only the best gets her approval. like every mother who believes that her children deserve the best in this world.

i have a theory about aphrodite's cabin and that "initiation" that they do when someone new arrives, if you don't remember it's basically about having to make someone fall in love and break their heart. well, the thing is that i think so you do not comply with it, there are consequences. it cannot be a coincidence that the only two girls we know from aphrodite's cabin who had a boyfriend who did not break his heart (or at least not intentionally) have died for love.

i want to say whether i like it or not, beckendorf died indirectly because of selina. she was the spy who told luke that they were going to try to explode the ship/cruise, beckendorf decided to explode the entire ship/cruise with himself in order to save those he loves, and that group of people includes selina. with piper it does not happen exactly the same but that her love interest ends up dead, ends up dead. in the burning maze it was between piper and jason, he decided to die for piper and thus be able to save everyone he loves. i don't think that is a coincidence.

we all know that aphrodite manages everyone's love life however she wants, like what she did with reyna and apollo in the tyrant's tomb, or that of making the love life of percy and annabeth "interesting", with rachel, luke and the tartarus. i think that everything was planned by aphrodite, by the gods, it is a kind of curse that they put simply to be able to have a good time.

leo/hermes: the mister joke boy, the funny one and the party as a person

jason/apollo: the golden boy, blonde with blue eyes, charismatic and the typical hero (son of zeus/jupiter too lol)

just imagine that instead of jason and percy, eeyna and annabeth are the ones who exchange places, reyna would wake up next to piper and leo on a bus, for some reason a pretty girl tells her that they are dating, she does not remember anything but throughout the adventures that live together ends up falling in love with her, even though she remembers very well that piper's mother told her that she would never find love, but piper is the daughter of aphrodite, so she thinks that maybe somehow things are different with her. In the trials of apollo it would be piper who dies at the hands of caligula, reyna is devastated and decides to become a hunter, at the end of all aphrodite was right she will never find a lover.
