HOW TO CREATE A FAVICON

favicon: an image displayed at the browser bar; a website icon

1. FAVICON.CC

Whoohooo! Next tutorial, favicons. First, go to favicon.cc and create an account (its free)

2. UPLOAD

Upload your picture file, keep in mind, favicons are small therefore keep the picture simple, with least detail possible and of highest quality. You can use transparent pictures too!

3. PUBLISH

Hopefully you made that account (or have one). Select “publish under an open license”

4. NAME

Name your file and click “ok”

5. ACCESS

Click on your favicon

6. COPY THE CODE

Now scroll down, where you will see this part.  You will NOT download the favicon, INSTEAD copy the very last HTML code

7. EDIT HTML

Click on edit theme & edit html

8. FIND AND REPLACE

In the settings icon, click on “find and replace”. Type in “favicon”

9. FIND THE CODE

Finder will find the favicon word in your code. It should look sommmeeethinggg like this, not necessary exactly. As long as you have the code in the BRACKETS or something similar, you are in the right place. Create some writing space after those codes!

10. PASTE

Paste your code right in that area.

11. UPDATE

DO NOT forget to click update preview & SAVE

12. VOILA! 

After saving, let your page load and you SHOULD see your favicon in the browser bar! Depending on your browser program, this might or might be supported (I use chrome). Like I said, the simpler the picture, the better the quality!
