My own iteration idea for TMNT~
I imagined Splinter suffering because he was denied by a sad Mikey who would say something like: "Be strong, Splineter, it's for your own good."
I've read this so many times, but I'm having difficulty understanding. It sounds like Splinter asked Mikey for something and then Mikey responds like a responsible adult~ XD Now I can't help but imagine a solum/serious baby Mikey patting his depressed father comfortingly.
But I think you probably meant something more like THIS POST~

Has Little Mikey ever gone “spider-Man mode” like for example He some how got on the top of the refrigerator or he on a metal pipe and he’s just swinging back-and-forth on it?🧡😄🕸️🕷️
All the time! Mikey loves exploring and climbing anything he can. He's figured out that it's easier to do so when Splinter leaves the lair, so he's mostly giving his brothers mini heart attacks with his antics.
Is Mikey potty trained? Like, from what I understand that usually happens between 2 and 3 and he's not that old yet.
Yes he is.
The 2012 turtles are pretty advanced for their age in the tv show. They are able to swim and coordinate to save Splinter as tiny newly-mutated tots.
How close do you think displacement is to being finished? (It's such a good story!!)

Chapter/length wise, somewhere around a half to a 3rd of the fic is left before it's finished. But nothing's set in stone. This fic changes a lot as I write it.
Time wise is a bit more tricky. I've honestly fell out of the TMNT mood for the last few months and was either busy or sick before that. Writing for this will be slow until the TMNT mood returns.

Mikey and Raph can blind anyone that looks into their eyes too long. Donnie can still stare into your soul. And Leonardo looks even more alien than baby Mikey does.

It's a bit messy cause I drew this faster than usual, but I hope you like it regardless~
I found your TMNT age gap AU. Although how will certain… events of the original TMNT 2012 show change with these guys being in their current ages? I feel like little 8 year old Raph would end up losing his shit a lot easier when his brothers get hurt or worse. I can only imagine him going into a meltdown and feel like he failed them but Leo, Donnie and Miley try their best to comfort him.
A lot's gonna change. Most early action/missions will be Leo, April, Casey, and/or Karai. Occasionally one or multiple of the other three turtles will follow/sneak out to join them (cause Raph hates being babied/left out and Donnie and Mikey are overly curious little dudes).
I think Spike will still mutate into Slash at some point and that's gonna be one of the absolute worst days for little Raph. Slash will still be violent due to the mutagen messing with his head like in cannon, and won't hesitate to hurt one of Raph's brothers if they get in his way (except maybe Mikey, cause Raph is extra sweet to his baby bro in this au) Lots of cuddles required for the turtle boys to recover.
