I hope the weather, the days, and your minds are treating you with utmost kindness!

I trust my First Column & Gazette, Volume 01 reached you without a fee, and I am delighted to inform you that the Gazette, Volume 02 has just gone to press for printing! This morning, I received the new parchment design from Canva & Co., our local modiste, and they delivered with the first post. We shall celebrate these next eight esteemed authors together within a fortnight!

Join our Weaving Wonderful Writers Society to indulge yourself. You may introduce yourselves whilst maintaining the delightful ruse of this Regency-era—perhaps even adopt a name to suit. I myself go by Lady Grace (rumor has it I may or may not be entangled in a rather intriguing situation with Duke Barnes).

Alongside being a writer, might you also be a seamstress, an artist, a songstress, or even a soul swept into a love story with your own Duke or Sir or Lord? Imagine it, if you will—a world entirely of your own crafting! Would it not be a delight? I may be no expert, but I am certainly attempting to do justice to this theme of our chosen era. And so, dearest wanderer, if you feel inspired to join in, I would be most honored to make your acquaintance.

It would be a delight to see more neighbors in our Weaving Wonderful Writers Society sharing their tales and titles! Imagine each of us with our own Regency charm, crafting our little stories and sharing the quirks of our imagined lives in this lovely era.

And speaking of stories yet to unfold, I have a few Regency-themed events brewing in my mind! I shall be sharing details soon, so keep your eyes peeled and your imaginations ready. It promises of good times!

As I am still fairly new to our beloved neighborhood, I have done my utmost to reach as many dear writers as possible, yet I am certain there are more kindred spirits out there. Should you, or any friends you know, delight in the thought of joining our humble society, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thinking you’ve finally fully snapped you start gently rocking. Suddenly a face comes into view. Curly hair, beard and deep blue eyes etched with concern. It’s enough to get you to stop rocking.

(My very first original idea, quickly written & posted to Tumblr. Only proofread briefly between myself & @peyton-warren)

Halloween is your favorite time of the year, but last minute candy shopping is not something you thought you’d have to do. However, coming home from work & catching Mikey on the couch surrounded by empty wrappers with a guilty smile, forced you to add that to your To-Do List.

Faye helped you carry the bags from the car, but you both stopped at the door when all you could hear was loud cackling & things being knocked over inside. Bracing yourself for what you might find, Faye can’t contain her giggles.

Upon entering the house you’re greeted by a teary eyed Mikey trying to standup to help you with your bags & Sy…suddenly the scene all makes sense.

“Oi, oi daaaling do you likes me costume?”

Sy stumbles up to you in the most ridiculous curly black wig & Walter’s black police vest & tac pants, water gun in the holster.

“Captain Syverson, what in God’s name are you doing? And How are you drunk already? We weren’t even gone for 30 minutes.”

Sy smirks before finishing what is left in his can & kissing your forehead. At this point Faye & Mikey are both crying laughing, while you’re praying the actual Lieutenant Marshall doesn’t turn tonight into a horror movie.

Pinching the bridge of your nose, you can also hear heavy footsteps coming down the stairs. “Faye, does this wig look like complete rubbish?”

Walter dressed as the Witcher Geralt, comes to a stop in the middle of the staircase upon seeing Sy. Sighing & closing his eyes, “Fuck”.

This brings Sy’s attention back to your original question. Pointing over at Walter still on the stairs he yells, “I wasn’t fixin’ to let that uppity bastard make a fool outta me & my service, by bein ME for Halloween! I saw him with my ruck sack!”

Your sigh took all of the air from your lungs, “Sy, look at him, he’s Geralt of Rivia.”, as you point over at an unamused Walter fully dressed in his outfit & wig.

Barking out a laugh Sy mutters, "Well butter my butt & call me a biscuit, he is. Would ya look at that?"

Walter shakes his head in indignation, “You left your bag in the middle of the bloody hallway again for me to trip over!”

You can see Walter plotting his revenge, or Sy’s murder you’re not quite sure. “Come on Geralt, I’ll help you tame that mane.” You beat Walter to the end of the staircase before he can make it over to Sy, steering him back upstairs & defusing the situation.

This entire scene only makes Mikey & Faye laugh harder.

Sy sits down with another beer, rubbing his beard, “He’s sure got his knickers in a knot.”

“I heard that, you knob!” is bellowed from upstairs. Faye & Mikey burst into hysterics again.

Once again in the worst British accent you’ve ever heard, Sy yells back, “Jolly good! Bugger off, you git!”

I loved this overall. But the detail I am most taken with is the innate feeling reader has about how "oh no, I won't run, no not at all... Right?". I am just imagining the history and the lore of the tale of the minator (hello history dork here) and how women sacrificed to this creature felt in the past.
