*I’m talking about associations that you don’t choose, the person is just associated with this Thing in your head for no apparent reason. For example, everyone I know is a breed of dog, animal, and color. Really hoping this makes sense but anyone lmk if you need clarification.
all of my friends (and characters im obsessed with) get one animal and one dog breed. this is simply how it works.
if i associate them to animals it's just a lot easier for me to comprehend their traits and feelings PLUS it's a very fun powerpoint night theme thats guaranteed to make everyone laugh
any other nonhumans "translate" animal behavior to their human bodies?
ive seen a lot of people who shake their feet to convey a wagging tail, but other than that, do you do something else?
i noticed i have a lot of these little translations and i find them cute. i do the slow blinking, the fullbody shake, the whale eyeing and the head tilting, which are obvs easier to do as a human. but i also managed to learn how to play bow!
i do the leg-tail wag! i also shake my head to fix my fur, head tilt, and have a standing play bow. i bend over a bit and pull my hands to my chest instead of getting fully on the ground. my friends also get bonked in the shoulder with my head a lot!

Therians and otherkins! Hi, I'm a clinical lycanthrope and ive been doing research surrounding it
I was curious how different or similar therian shifts are to lycanthropic shifts, (mainly because folks are still getting the two confused) so if anyone wants to, could you answer some questions below the cut for me? You do not have to answer if you don't want to, but any answers I do get will help me and others into understanding :3
This is for all nonhumans who are NOT clinical lycanthropes and experience shifts (I may reopen my poll for lycanthropes soon, though)
(im answering these thinking you are probably referring to mental shifts, so im not taking ph-shifts into consideration here)
1. as a suntherian, i am constantly shifted! ive been like this my whole conscious life and i dont know how it feels to not be shifted -- even if i can imagine, since my "animality" levels fluctuate
2. i am always fully aware of my enviroinment!
3. ive never exerienced memory loss ever
4. i am a stray dog and a house gecko :)
