From the article:

I had to walk by this group to get back to my office, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel violently angry and glared at every single person I saw, silently begging for one of them to talk to me so I could give them a piece of my mind. No one did.

When I got back to my desk, I was still fuming. It blew my mind that so many people were so devoted to denying people bodily autonomy—a constitutionally-protected right. If we want to take the “Defund Planned Parenthood” signs into the bargain, they are devoted to denying people access to preventative medical care, birth control, and a host of other life-saving things, only one of which is abortion. Thinking of all of these people, who took time off from work, travelled to my city, spent money on a hotel room and whatever else, just to tell me that my body should not be my own, made me feel helpless. Thinking of all the children and young teenagers who were there, the majority of whom were simply too young to form an opinion on this topic in a fully informed, mature manner, made me angry.

Trigger warning: ableism, censored use of the R-word, and abuse

From the article:

When the things that make up a part of who we are is so suppressed, how can it not be revolutionary to rock in public? How could I not include this part of myself when protesting a system that treats people without economic means as worthless? Why shouldn't I stim in the face of a world — one both outside and inside — that tells me that I, too, am worthless? (If you are new, I am indeed fond of rhetorical questions.)

I am stimming 1000 revolutions a minute when I go out and stim at a protest. I'm being Autistic, fat, disabled, queer, poor, covering, and many other things in public when I am in public, and being visible here is bringing all of those things out and into a space where revolution can happen. I am speeding our revolutions while joining their revolutions, even if it is only that tiny amount that visibility brings.

From the article:

We are allowed to celebrate violent revolt. We are allowed to cheer on rebels and freedom fighters without having to mark our approval with phrases like, “Well of course I always hope for peace, however...” Of course we have all hoped for peace. None of us wanted to wake up to the news that towns filled with our cousins and sisters and brothers were being shelled. That Pearl Roundabout in Bahrain, Tahrir Square in Egypt, Benghazi in Libya, Daraa in Syria, Change Square in Yemen, and Sidi Bouzid in Tunisia were being “cleared” by government forces. We, the supporters and the families of those in conflict, have always wanted the government to acquiesce to the overwhelming wishes of the people. We have asked and petitioned and begged for them to step down and let the councils elected by the people take over and determine the next course of action.
