when your friends make jokes about hating themselves, stop them. don’t laugh. i know in the moment it might slip out, but make sure you follow it up with asking them about it. don’t accept a calm, “i’m the worst” tell them, “no, you’re not.” even if they made big mistakes, tell them it’s okay. that they just messed up a little bit. even if you told them before they did it that you thought it was a bad idea: no “i told you so.”

let them know that you don’t agree with the voices in their head. the thing about this is that once they hear you gently correct them, they’ll start to hear how much they say this kind of thing. and hopefully, over time, they can start correcting the voices, too.

i know it’s the kind of joke i make all the time, but the truth is that those jokes are insidious. when you loudly announce, “i’m a waste of space” and other people laugh: they’re agreeing. and it adds up. the thing is: all jokes have some element of truth. and that little bit of truth weighs a whole lot on you.

like you know when you consider this post one might go into the mental loop of “well n and ghetsis must be related” and also “well they can’t be related”

not like ghetsis ever denied that n is not ghetsu’s son. i mean ghetsis states that n was given name of harmonia from ghetsis so it’s not like ghetsis stole n’s harmonia lineage to idk something (ego boost) and n denies that too so let’s drop it (and plus surname like that (which ghetsu did research, since it’s his notes that are given to you by zinzolin) very well could be what fueled ghetsis to do everything he did). also wasn’t there something about ghetsis sensing that n had the abilities he was looking for? idk i can’t find quote now and i’m lazy (help i might be wrong here)

on the other hand the fact that ghetsis researched very thoroughly what it meant to be harmonia in ancient times so idk looked n up somewhere (which i am not buying because suddenly a kid in a forest who can do exactly what ghetsis says i am not buying it unless it was staged) and i believe ghetsis didn’t have to mold him much to make him fit into picture of legendary-beloved perfect king harmonia

nevermind the fact that one wonders what the fuck happened to harmonias that they got forgotten i mean i am p sure ghetsu got his ass under the water to research shit about his own lineage but here we go deep into past and we have 0 info here so let’s drop it

so yeah, totally related not necessarily on parental level but you know there is connection

nevermind that i still ponder if harmonias don’t have any connection with az’s lineage because you know everything happening 3k years ago is just too bloody convenient and there was something about comparing early designs but those were early designs so they don’t count (az’s key vs n’s cube)

and in general i’m few years too late to fandom.
