I'm Pepple, I'm 30+, I work with animals and I'm from Sweden. I have a love of bunnies and mythology/folk lore spanning from childhood. It all went downhill from there

🚫Against harassment and cult mentality🚫

I generally don't ship stuff in canon. I'm easily convinced to indulge others tho'. I like art that I find pretty or funny without care for the ship so I guess be warned before going into my likes, I often don't even know who the characters/fandoms are

I love rabid discussion but not fighting. Anyone may interact with me/my posts just don't be a dick 🕺

Not sure what I think about the way they wrote Viktor's arc in the second season... I think they had a very promising set up in the first season to go for a good-intentions-makes-you-lose-yourself and going for a brought-back-wrong seems strangely like a cop out

But who knows. I'm curious to see more

The existence of giant butterflies on No Mans Land implies that somewhere there are flowers, and a lot of em.

I mean I guess a butterfly could feed on blood or something if you want it to be carnivorous, but then there would have to be some kind of prey with thinner and more fragile skin, because the worms you see look tough as rock and a butterfly's wings are really sensitive to harm. Although, to be fair, they do pull a jellyfish and put everyone to sleep before they could get close enough. The huge body wouldn't make sense if they were only drinking thoma blood, though. There would have to be much larger prey

people think they shouldn't vote as a protest or whatever because they've been raised on boycotts. which do sometimes work.

boycotts deprive the target of money.

not voting does not deprive the government of money.

it does, however, deprive you of power.

it's not like a boycott.

So there's something I want to say re: intentionally withholding your vote, and I want to do it without coming across as condescending or dismissive.

I've worked as a field organizer in two campaigns, 2010 and 2012, and my job was to help turnout the vote for Democratic candidates up and down the ticket. Technology may have changed, but people are still knocking on doors for specific voters the way they were 12 years ago.

If you say you're not voting/voting 3rd party, the campaign volunteer is supposed to mark that and move on. Their job, in the final month of the election, is to make sure the campaign's supporters have all the information and resources they need to cast a vote.

They aren't collecting data on why you're withholding your vote. They aren't submitting opinion polling results to the campaign. Something like 155 million people voted in the 2020 election, and if you say you're not voting, the campaign is not going to waste a volunteer's time and morale begging you to vote when there are literally millions of other voters to turn out.

Let me repeat that: The campaign does not track why you're not voting. They simply note your vote is not a priority for turnout and move on.

I say this because I see a lot of promotion of non-voting like that's a boycott, when the function is not the same. A boycott is a coordinated mass refusal to engage with an institution—which sounds similar if you see a vote as a good or service to withhold. Unfortunately, it's not.

A vote is a choice you're making as part of a community hiring committee. Your abstention doesn't prevent someone from being hired. It just lowers the threshold for the worst candidate to succeed.

All this to say: In my direct experience as an organizer, abstaining from the vote sends a message. That message is not "You need to try harder to win my vote." It's "Don't waste time on me."

"DNI: Standard DNI criteria" is so funny, like anyone checking if they should interact is gonna be familiar enough with dni's to know the standard redundant options. really exposes the purpose of them, they signal an in-group to other people with the same DNI rather than actually being a warning for potentially unwanted interactions.

me when im a self-identifying Bad Person and someone says not to interact: "oh, thanks for letting me know, i'll be off"

GOD I wish I could record my dreams sometimes. Like sometimes I can write music and imagine instrumentals perfectly in a way I absolutely cannot do awake and I am fully aware I am dreaming, but I will rarely ever remember it when I wake up and I know that will happen and I have no idea if I'm actually writing music or just plagiarizing a real song

Cause the second option seems without a doubt more likely, right? But I have all of ONE recording where I woke up remembering a small bit and that one is the FIRST option

In my mind Wolfwood was always middle eastern and I didn't ever actually think about it, but it is a lil funny that the character that seems to have so many different ethnicity headcanons is the one and only character we also know was based off a japanese person. Which I have seen zero headcanons for despite being absolutely most likely to be the intent

I’m gonna be that person and say while it’s not necessarily done with malicious intent, it’s likely due to colorism, equating East Asian to pale skin

From what I’ve seen, the Japanese fandom seems to see him as Japanese, and I will say that the kansai dialect really seals the deal but unfortunately it doesn’t translate

It’s super fun to see all kinds of headcanons for Wolfwood! A lot of the conversations around his skin tone can be quite reductive and there’s a whole other can of worms with the hyper masculine sexy Latino lover and aggressive dark skinned man stereotypes but I digressss

It does pain me when people say they make him white in stampede and blr. Not saying there’s no colorism at play but seriously no one at the studios is trying to present him as a white person

not sure what they're actually called but i have been referring to the first 2 pre-max volumes of trigun as "trigun minimum" which, as far as i'm concerned, is objectively correct
