Part 3 of my online selling blog post series is up!

This time I address labor and how that works into your final prices of your pieces.

This was honestly the trickiest post for me to write. I’ve tried to break it down as simply as I can, and hopefully it will help some new online sellers out there. :)

The second part of my series of selling online is up on my blog. This time I explain Etsy fees, PayPal fees, and how to make sure you correctly incorporate those fees into your item prices. http://bonappeteats.com/blog (You can always click the link in my profile instead, then head to the blog section from there!) #handmade #crafts #blogpost #wordpress #blog #informative #guides #etsy #howto #ecommerce #onlineseller #onlineshop #fees #paypal #etsyshop #etsyseller

Hey guys! My new blog post is finally up! Sorry it took so long - I ended up redoing almost all of it. Part 1 of this series goes over online selling platforms - mostly Etsy and your own website. I've decided from here on out to discuss Etsy only since that's what most people are interested. You can find the post here: http://bonappeteats.com/opening-shop-a-series-of-how-to-posts-for-getting-started-part-1/ Or you can click the link in my profile to my website and find it under the Blog section. I will have part two up next week. I will be discussing Etsy and Paypal fees then. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them here or on the blog post. :) #handmade #crafts #blogpost #wordpress #blog #informative #guides #etsy #howto #ecommerce #onlineseller #onlineshop

Hey guys!

I have a new blog post up. This is dealing with an incident I’ve been bogged down with for the last couple of days. I thought that perhaps my personal experience could help inform other sellers on how to handle a kid making unauthorized credit card purchases from their shops.

So, unfortunately, I will not be able to post my new items today by noon. I will try my hardest to get them up by tonight though!

I've added a review to my blog for Shock Pop Comic Con 2015.

I've never felt compelled to write a review before, but all the things that happened this weekend made me feel I'd be doing a disservice if I didn't write one.

It was a very, very odd convention and weekend overall. I would like to hear from other vendors or artists about how it went for them as well.

Hey guys! Next week I'd like to do a Q&A type blog post, so I'm looking for some questions to post and answer on there. :) It can be about my business, my pieces, general clay questions, or anything personal you'd like to know (within reason). Any questions not used this post will be answered in future Q&A posts! #polymerclay #miniatures #miniaturefood #foodjewelry #jewelry #blog #blogpost #wordpress

So, you want to get started working with Polymer Clay, but you don’t know where to begin. This is a quick write up of the very basic tools and materials you will need in order to get started working with Polymer Clay. I’ve also included some extra items you can purchase later on once you’re more committed to sticking ... Read More

I've reworked my post from 2012 and cleaned it up a bit. I've now added it to my blog for easier reference. :)

Eventually I'd like to expand this series a bit. What would you all like to see blog posts written about that you wish you would have known when you started with clay?

My second blog post is finally up! It's a followup to my previous post - this time for the artists' perspective instead of the customer's.

I want to thank you all again for the amazing feedback I received when I was looking for points to include in this post. These are but a fraction of the suggestions I received:

  • Being too pushy when selling.
  • Leaving your table unattended.
  • Discriminating against your customers.

Plus quite a few more really good suggestions I hadn't thought of myself. :) Feel free to leave more suggestions in the comments!

It's finally up! My first blog post is on what customer's should try to avoid doing while interacting with artists at artist alley.

I had a ton of feedback when I was asking for suggestions, and I incorporated as many of them in as I could like:

  • Don't complain about the prices artists set.
  • Don't put your food/drinks/stuff on top of pieces on the artist's table.
  • Asking for free things.

And (quite!) a bit more. Hopefully it's informative and lets you guys get a little peak into what we as artists have to deal with each time we sell at a convention.

Next week I'll have another one of these up, though as things you shouldn't do as an artist.
