Chocolate Chip Cookie Prep Board from my stream last night. I had a lot of fun making this one. The silver bowl is something I put together with a small plastic container that was cut down and painted with metallic paint. The cup...is not permanent. It melted in the oven and I had to even out the top (which is why the milk inside is a little higher than the cup). I just threw it in for the picture but I'll be redoing the cup today. The raw eggs are just there so I'd have an excuse to try out using scenic water. It was a success, even though it left a very strange bubble as it dried. I'll be experimenting with tinting it when I make soup next. I'm selling this not put together. I've left it loose so whoever buys it gets to put it together however they want (or leave it loose). Taking this to the indie craft fair I'm going to in a couple of weeks. :)
FAQ
I made a FAQ post a little while ago, and I guess I forgot to link to it here!
It answers everything and I have even included links to the sellers I buy from on eBay.
Hope this answers some of the questions you all had!
Commission for a tiny peanut charm and a charm made in the style of some MLP charms I made ([link]) of their own horse. I'm open for commissions still. :3
The other request from my live stream last night - a strawberry shortcake charm. Yeah...I need to redo my strawberry cane. >.> lol
I had it get into my head that I wanted to take the tiramisu I made and turn it into a prep board of sorts. I wanted to be able to show the bakery owners that I could do more than charms and mini plates. I took the tiramisu I made and added a bowl of raspberries, a bowl of whipped cream, and an individual slice or tiramisu. First time making utensils; let me know how they turned out! :)
All the items made so far for my meeting in Boca. I'm pretty pleased with these. :) I think it's a pretty good sampling of what I can do. The tiramisu needs the rest of the prep board but I'll do that a little later. I'll have these up for sale (if anyone's interested) after my meeting.
Second part of the ice cream tutorial. This shows how I make both my soft serve and ice cream scoops. The way I make my soft serve is also the way I did my icing on the cupcakes. :) Part 1 - Cones: [link] ~~Other Tutorials~~ Rice Krispy Treats: [link] Fruit Tarts: [link] Grapes: [link] S'mores: [link] Bacon: [link] Eggs: [link] Pie Crusts/Toppings: [link] Waffle Texture: [link]
Part 1 of the promised ice cream tutorial. This section just covers on how to make a waffle cone. It was originally going to just be 1 tutorial, but it was too large. >.> Part 2 - Ice Cream: [link] ~~Other Tutorials~~ Rice Krispy Treats: [link] Fruit Tarts: [link] Grapes: [link] S'mores: [link] Bacon: [link] Eggs: [link] Pie Crusts/Toppings: [link] Waffle Texture: [link]
Finished my pastry box! I'd link the template for the box but it was pretty awful. The two halves are the same size, so they don't really fit together like they should. And parts of it are way off so it won't fit together well. :/ At least it looks decent enough to take with me this week. I really want to do more of these for rings and magnets, pins, too, maybe.
Made some tiny pastries on my live stream last night - eclairs, cream puffs, and a napoleon (which needs some work). This is still really a work in progress; they need to go into a tiny pastry box I need to print out and assemble. Unfortunately our printer is broken so I need to head out to my parents' house and borrow theirs to finish this. The miniature pastry box will be part of what I bring to my interview this week at an Italian pastry shop in Boca. The owner seems interested in my work and might commission me to do some work for them up there, plus maybe sell some of my items in their shop as well.
Planning on doing a set of Retro TV dinners. This Salisbury steak dinner is the first of that set. Salisbury steak smothered in gravy with a side of corn, a side of mashed potatoes and gravy, plus a brownie for dessert. The tray needs a little work (it's scrap clay covered in tin foil) but that will come with practice.
Real vs Fake meme by SmallCreationsbyMel. Been wanting to make a burrito plate for a while, and when I saw her post this meme, I knew this would be the one I'd start off with. :) Still need to figure out the melted cheese effect, since it looks like cheese sauce on the burrito...not that I'd complain if I got that. lol I crave Mexican food now. >.<
A burrito smothered with sauce and gooey cheese. Accompanied by rice, beans (also covered in cheese), sour cream, and guacamole. A plate of chips and salsa sits in the background. I've been wanting to make a Mexican food plate for a while now. This is part of SmallCreationsbyMel's Real vs Fake meme (which is completely and totally fantastic)
A large slice of warm Razzleberry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Birthday gift for my mom. :) I love this pie. It's a mix of three or four different berries in a super flaky pie crust. Whenever we went to Marie Callender's for dinner, this was what my mom always ordered for dessert. Unfortunately there are no Marie Callender's where we moved, so we settle for the frozen version now instead.
Two over easy eggs on a plate of rice. Birthday gift for my father and his favorite meal. :) If you've never had this before, it's really, really good. Plus it's very quick if you have leftover rice on hand! Heat a plate of rice. Cook up two eggs either over easy or sunny side up (my favorite way). Place eggs on rice and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Now cut up the eggs into the rice so the yolk gets all over it. Absolutely delicious. I like smothering it with hot sauce and some Parmesan cheese at this point.
So I lied; I had time to make something today. :3 A chocolate lava cake with a mound of whipped cream, garnished with a raspberry, a mint leaf, and a raspberry sauce on the side. This was originally for Semi-Sweeties monthly food challenge, but I only just noticed it was for chocolate CANDIES, not just chocolate foods. >.< I think I will be keeping this one for myself. It's my husband's favorite dessert and will be turned into a magnet for our fridge. :)
A tiny plate of my favorite IHOP breakfast - Pigs in a Blanket. I have such a craving for this now. >.< Pancakes are a bit too flat around the edges so I'll have to watch out for that next time.
I am not going to be posting at all this weekend (I think) since the convention starts tomorrow (omgaaaaawd I'm not ready D:). I'll have pictures of my setup and maybe of stuff I do on commission there.
Have a great weekend all! :3
