One more cabochon - a waffle heart with a scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce. I really like how that Pluffy clay made the ice cream much easier to sculpt and a lot more realistic looking. At least I know the package won't go to waste!
First attempt at a Decoden box. It's still unfinished; I need to paint the box still. Just wanted to see what the fuss was all about. :) Decoration placement could have been better and the bright pink popsicle is out of place. The silicone was the wrong type, too - way too runny. I made my own decorations on top - 2 cookies, a popsicle, a brownie with ice cream, and an ice cream cone. There are small plastic pearls and glitter on it as well. I'll have another picture up once I finish the entire box.
More cabochons, this time donuts. :) I bought Sculpey "Pluffy" clay thinking it was a squishy clay. Well, unfortunately, it's not. It just dries super light. I still wanted to make a squishy donut, so I ended up using the Sculpey mold making clay for the second donut. Success - it's squishy! Tried to show that off in the last picture but I'm not sure if it's noticeable. I did find a recipe for homemade squishy clay, so I'll be looking into that and seeing how it works. I'd love to do more squishy food charms!
I've heard a lot about cabochons lately, so I thought I'd give it a try and see how it would go. I'm not even sure if this is right; I googled cabochons that are used on the iPod cases and whatnot, and I saw a lot of food themed ones. What else works for that stuff? The decoden (right? I am so bad at this ._.) ones, really, since it seems they use a lot of mini foods in those. If anyone has any ideas for this, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to have a few to sell at the convention. :)
