mickey mouse characters are like. goofy goof is a single dad who raises his teen son in the suberbs while working at a toy factory. donald duck lost his sister after her rocket crash landed on the moon and takes care of her three sons. mickey mouse has no backstory
youd think mickey mouse, literally the most popular cartoon character in the world, would have more of a grounded backstory. but literally the closest scrap of background we have on this guy is that he has a sister named felicity who may not even be canon outside of like, the one comic she appears in. mickey is the most enigmatic character in the series and not in a good way
oswald the lucky rabbit has more of a backstory than mickey mouse, and he is the (arguably not even fucking canon) character who got an entire game revolving around how much disney didnt give a shit about him. he has more background than mickey mouse. No its fine Its great I love being a mickey mouse fan
This is what I've been complaining about forever. Mickey is the most notable face of the company and he has no arc, no character development. Perhaps the company wants him to be a blank slate so no one can complain or nitpick his backstory. I honestly think the only reason Mickey doesn't have agency is so less people question his agency his incredible lack of personality outside of being the good guy.
