DT93 Au Character Designs (Season 1)
While thinking about my DuckTales 1993 Au character redesigns, I also created some new/semi-new characters.
Basil Crackshell is my interpretation of Fenton’s father and Francis is my interpretation of Doofus’s beloved Gummeemama Francis in the 90s. I intend to have both characters appear in the DT93 au.
I knew I wanted to create a “rival” for Della and April. After watching “Day of the Only Child,” I thought it would be interesting if the Drakes and Ducks were enemies for over one generation. After watching “The First Adventure,” I found it hard to accept Duckworth as Scrooge’s assistant at the bin and at the manor, especially since I don’t picture him being the adventurer type. So I made Basil. He’s largely inspired by the DuckTales 1987 iteration of Fenton.
Basil Crackshell is a dorky, dependable, and prudent individual. The son of Duckburg’s chief of police, he is extremely capable in serious situations. Since becoming Scrooge McDuck’s personal assistant, he’s grown attached to McDuck’s three charges: April, Della, and Donald. Caring for them as if they were his own family. He is engaged to one of his dad’s officers, officer Cabrera, and eagerly looks forward to what the future hold for them.
Francis Bourbourg is a polished and proud woman. Who modeled back in the day. She has a son, who she holds too high, somewhat unattainable standards. Francis leads the Association of Status Seekers, a club for Duckburg’s wealthy and respectable patrons. She manipulates the people around her into giving her exactly what she wants. She looks down on the "unrefined", as well as those who don’t bend to her will. This includes April and Della, her neighbors. The girls are never ladylike enough for her liking.
María Antonia Magdalena Aldonsa
María Antonia Magdalena Aldonsa is an ambitious, driven young woman. She works as an officer at Duckburg’s 13th precinct. Fresh out of the academy, she’s eager to make a difference. That said, she is a realist. Though her energetic manner might paint her as naïve, she’s deals well with the physical world. At times, she tends to think to think in absolutes, but is supportive of change. María is engaged to the chief of police’s son, Basil. He’s not just her partner, but also her best friend. She’s typically an honest and straightforward individual and expects the same in return.
Phoebe P. Beakley is a resourceful, intellectual, somewhat intense child. They aren’t a physical fighter, they’re much more skilled in an office or laboratory setting. Phoebe’s the "guy in the chair.” What they lack in physicality, they make up for it in intellect and ingenuity. They invent the most amazing gadgets for S.H.U.S.H. operatives to use in the field. They are gifted in multiple fields of science, and have an unusual fascination for Norse battle tactics. Despite her intelligence, she lacks social graces, as she’s very awkward around people. Which is a cause of concern for their mother.
Phoebe also has a bulldog named Yugi(Yu-gi).
