Okay, hear me out: The seven decide to do a trauma candy salad on Piper’s social media, and within a day it becomes her most liked post and starts 6 new conspiracies.

Percy: Hey, I’m Percy Jackson, and when I was 12, I accidentally blew up the gateway arch, and there was a nation-wide manhunt for me because they thought I was a terrorist. I brought Reese's Pieces.

Annabeth: My name is Annabeth, and when I was 7 years old, I ran away from home and lived on the streets with two other kids until one of them was murdered in front of me. I brought starbursts.

Leo: Hi! I’m Leo, and my mother died in a warehouse fire, but my entire family blamed me for her death, so I was put in foster care. I brought skittles!

Piper: I’m Piper, and my dad was held hostage, and his kidnappers tried to blackmail me, so I brought the m&m's.

Jason: My name is Jason and I was abandoned in the woods and raised by wolves. I brought some Swedish fish.

Frank: I’m Frank, and when my mom died, my grandmother kicked me out of the house and told me to go to California. After I came back to ask her about our family history, the house burned down and she vanished. I brought some gummy bears

Hazel: When I was 13, I died. I’m putting in life savers :)

This exchange between Leo and Jason is really poignant. I like it. Rick Riordan gets almost philosophical with that line from Jason, and I really like it.

"Trust me, Hephaestus cabin doesn't see fire powers as cool. Nyssa told me they're super rare. When a demigod like me comes around, bad things happen. Really bad".

"Maybe it's the other way around," Jason suggested. "Maybe people with special gifts show up when bad things are happening because that's when they're needed most."

Friendly reminder that names have meaning in the pjo universe.

Percy/Perseus- to destroy or avenge, a Greek hero with a happy ending.

Leo/Leonidas - a spartan king who sacrificed himself to save his people.

Jason- healer/to heal, lead the argonauts to the Golden Fleece but died a painful death.

Thalia- an immortal muse of comedy and idyllic poetry.

Castor- to excel/to shine, killed while his twin brother survives (in the most common version of the myth).

Pollux- Crown/ very sweet, survives after his twin brother is killed.

<33

Lester - roman fort by the river Leiere, Over time it came to mean fortified place or camp of the legion. Which is what Apollo becomes once ToA ends (REVOLUTION-)

Papadopolous - son of a priest, Zeus uses this to mock Apollo, meaning he's only important because of his father. (paralel to demigods)

Piper - Piper can control people using her voice via charmspeak, like the pied piper

i know people have talked about this, but i seriously will never forgive rick for not making valgrace canon and then killing off jason.

jason and leo were soulmates, romantic or not. since they were born, their lives have been twisted by the same goddess. they were the two destined to die. i bet the fates are laughing at that now.

jason was neglected as a child, left to grow up by himself with lupa

leo’s mom died at the hands of gaea, and grew up by himself on the streets

jason and leo have both repeatedly talked about how attractive the other is, and jasons the only person who’s EVER told leo be was important. besides his mother ofc. and i just ugh. this is fucking messed up

they were supposed to be boyfriends. or something more. but ofc, gays are doomed to never find each other again.

jason went looking for leo after he died, not stopping until chiron forced him to.

leo keeps staring at jasons fucking lip

they were destined to be romeo and juliet, and i hate that but i find it beautiful.

THEY WERE DESTINED TO BE TOGETHER. ISTG RICK WHEN I FUCKING FIND YOU

(this is not to be mean yall, i’m just in a silly mood 😋)

i just, they were supposed to get together. i know it.

also, jason dying is tragic. he never got to be the person he was supposed to, ever since he was born he was a servant to the gods. being born to be favored by hera, dying for apollo, its just not fair. why did they do this to him? and i (fuck imma cry) i cant

leo deserved better. he deserved so, so much BETTER. i mean, he fucking sacrificed his LIFE to save the world, and yes, even though he was always meant to come back, there was always that lingering chance the plan WOULDN'T work out.

but what did he get when he finally made his way back home? hugs? maybe a huge welcome home party? NO. instead, everyone got into a fucking LINE and proceeded to hit him, WITH FULL FORCE, immediately upon his arrival back home.

and then there's the issue with calypso. i just HATED the way she treated him in the dark prophecy. like, he was the only dude who BOTHERED to come back for her. he gave her the chance for a new life. but instead, she COMPLAINS about how leo "treats every problem like a machine" when he's working SO hard to fix things.

then later, at the end of the series, we find calypso has become counsellor for a band camp pretty far away, and we learn that part of the reason was "so she could take some time away from him". i mean, what the hell is up with THAT?!

leo's done so many amazing things for so many people, but just how many times do you hear him praised? like honestly, he deserves someone who loves him unconditionally, someone who showers him with love, someone who can fill up the gaps his mother's death left in him. and that someone is NOT calypso.

The seven’s veiws on the gods are so funny like

Jason, Hazel, and Frank: find them annoying and have issues with them, but begrudgingly respect them because they don’t want to die. Will usually only argue with their parent and call the gods out only with much reasons.

Percy and Annabeth: completely done with them. Has been dealing with this way to long, let us retire and never come near us again. Would actually kick a god out of their house and is not afraid to call them all out.

Piper and Leo: does not care, never cared, probably has a death wish. They’re first interactions were like “so you can’t parent and you’re ugly” and *the silence of utter disapproval* “why”. Would roast any of the gods infront of there face with 🤏🏼 this much reason.

Cabin 7: jumps at the opportunity to help their dad, 'omg dad!! dad!! look at my youtube!! :D', *gets lured into a trap because they want to help their dad*, 'OHMYGODIALMOSTKILLEDMYDADOHMYGOD-' *has an internal break-down*, 'gasp will i still make the olympics dad?? :(', 'NOBODY KILLS MY DAD-!', *aggressively plays Pop-Goes-The-Weasel in combat*, 'EAT THIS FUCKERS!!' *shoots a sonic arrow he got from his dad*, 'DAD!!!!!' *nearly knocks him over in a hug*

Yeah, yeah, Valgrace is Romeo and Juliet coded but hear me out: they’re actually Pyramus and Thisbe, which is a Roman myth.

Same basic story of rival families (rival camps, you know how those parallels work), but the way the deaths go down is different. It’s not a planned faked death that goes awry because the other person doesn’t know.

Pyramus and Thisbe plan to meet under a mulberry tree. Thisbe gets there first and sees a lioness killing something and hides, but loses her veil as she flees.

Pyramus never sees Thisbe’s body (because she isn’t dead), but finds her bloodied veil and assumes she died. He deals with this by falling on his own sword.

Thisbe returns, wanting to talk to Pyramus about what happened to her, and finds him dead/dying (depending on the version of the myth).

This is more accurate in terms of it being unintentional—Leo not wanting to fake his death but actively trying to escape death with his plan—Jason never seeing Leo’s body and the death by stabbing thing! It’s also perfect for Leo coming back at the end of Burning Maze and asking for Jason first thing and finding out he’s dead. You’re welcome :)

The fact that Calypso initially resented Leo just based on his looks. Because he didn’t look as “heroic” as Percy or Odysseus. Or Jason.

The fact that Leo already believed that he was a mistake. That he was worthless compared to the others, because he wasn’t the stereotypical “Hero”

You see it so many times in the books- Leo doesn’t think he’s as important as Jason or Percy because they’re your archetypal “Big Heroes” and Leo’s just the Lowly Mechanic, the Seventh Wheel, the Comedy Sidekick.

Calypso only reinforces that.

The fact that, in the end, when it comes down to Leo or Jason, Leo decides to take the prophecy into his own hands and end his life because ultimately it’s better the Repair Boy dies than someone who actually matters.

Calypso made Leo feel worthless. And Leo’s lack of self-worth (which I believe is his Fatal Flaw) is ultimately what drives his decision to sacrifice himself and save Jason.

*slams hand on table*

AND THIS IS WHY CALEO SHOULD BREAK UP. ALSO AROACE LEO VALDEZ FOR THE WIN!

I have been obsessed with the idea of Paris coming to the modern day in the same way Midas, Lityerses, and Medea did. Like, If anybody had some unfinished business, it's every citizen of Troy. Anyway here are some different little scenarios I've cooked up about how this silly little war criminal fared after making a mad dash for the doors of death in HoO.

  1. Ok, so in this scenario, Paris is recruited by Gaea just like all the other spirits who come back from the dead. He ends up being tasked with working alongside Octavian. At first, he's driven only by grief and anger at the loss of his own family and city. As they approach Camp Half-Blood, Paris regularly remarks on how happy he is that's he'll be the one storming the walls this time. But over time, he slowly finds himself growing worried about Octavian's sanity. He tries to steer Octavian away from making reckless decisions, but Octavian refuses to back down. Paris sees the deadly fervor of his fellow soldiers in Octavian, and pulls away. From here we split off into two endings. 1. (the sad one) Octavian's fate plays out the same as the books and Paris just has to deal with how his actions unintentionally spurred the young man towards his own death. Or 2. (the happy one) Paris leaving is the wake-up call Octavian needs, and he pulls himself out of battle at the last second, breaking the cycle of hatred and wrath that started at Troy. Pick your fighter I guess.
  2. In this scenario, Paris is not the only one who comes back from the doors of death. Half of the Argo II crew find him in Ancient Greece (Don't ask why he's there instead of Turkey idk shhhhh) And he's very helpful to them in whatever quest they're trying to complete at the time. All's well that ends well, except the OTHER half of the Argo II crew actually just met up with Hector on the other side of Greece lol. Turns out neither brother knows the other is alive, and the Argo II take the time to reunite the pair. I would specifically set this in BoO, and have the focus be on Jason and Leo as parallels for Hector and Paris, especially with them both thinking about sacrificing themselves bc of the prophecy (the whole "storm or fire" thing). Like, my idea is that a lot of emphasis would be put on Hector dying first, and how he sacrificed for Troy, and how Paris wishes he could've saved Hector. And Jason would come away from that thinking "Yes, I want to be Hector, i've made peace with making the final sacrifice to keep my friends safe" and Leo thinking "I'll do what Paris couldn't and give my life so that Jason doesn't have to" and ahhhh angst.
  3. This is a ToA scenario instead of an HoO scenario. Paris and one of his siblings come back to life like in the last one, but instead of it being Hector, this time it's Cassandra. Idk when this would happen in the timeline of ToA, bc those books are so tight knit (maybe the infamous TTT to TON roadtrip) But I would add a little side quest where Apollo and Meg have to find Cassandra bc Nero's trying to kidnap her or smth. They run into Paris while they're searching for Cassandra, and the three of them team up for a lil bit. In this scenario, Paris works as a direct parallel to Apollo, all though he's a bit further behind on his redemption journey. Basically, Apollo feels like he's looking at slightly embarrassing old pictures of himself. When they find Cassandra, Apollo offers a genuine apology for everything he did to her. Emboldened by Apollo's example, Paris also opens up to Cassandra in a way he'd never done before. The two are finally able to air out their shared grief from Troy, and they set out to ... idk New Rome or the Waystation or smth. Either way they're a lot closer as siblings now, and Apollo promises to visit them once the Trials are over.

Of course, these are only my ideas that kinda fit into canon, I have a whole bunch more that go entirely off the rails. Anyways this pathetic little failure of a man has bewitched my body and soul or whatever I love rolling him around like a balled up chewing gum wrapper.

going to chb must be crazy like imagine sharing a camp with

-one of the strongest demigods ever who's saved the world like at least 3 times, fought multiple gods & titans and WON (and is a tartarus survivor)

-the literal main architect of OLYMPUS who's also saved the world multiple times (also tartarus survivor)

-THE lord of the wild who's also close friends with the first two (and has helped save the world multiple times)

-an emo kid from the 1930s who again helped save the world and is also a tartarus survivor (TWICE)

-a son of apollo who survived tartarus with nothing but cargo shorts and sheer will (pun intended)

-the main designer and builder for the argo II, also the first hephaestus kid to have fire powers since hundreds of years ago (did i mention killed gaea? no? yeah he did that too)

-a girl who somehow charmspeak-ed gaea into falling back asleep (also side note daughter of super famous actor because why not)

-pretty much everybody is a two-time war veteran

-THE GOD APOLLO who just sometimes comes down to visit in the form of a teenage boy

-did i mention dionysus, god of wine madness and theatre

-also chiron, trainer of pretty much every greek hero ever

Jason is so happy on the Argo 2 and so happy to be on this dangerous death murder mission because all of his previous quests have been full of older kids who hated him or alone or with people who still didn't quite trust him after years of service. Where's that tumblr quote?

That's him

Also remember that Leo spent his whole childhood running away from shitty foster homes full of bullies and abuse. He was completely on his own. Now he’s found a family that accepts him, and he’s terrified of screwing it up because he cannot comprehend that anyone can love him unconditionally.

Jason and Leo parallel each other in a lot of ways. The only difference is that Jason grew up experiencing the violence and brutality of the demigod world, Leo grew up experiencing the violence and brutality of the mortal one.
