Annabeth in fanon: cold, calculating, allergic to fun and joy, the sensible one who keeps percy from making fun but bad choices.
Annabeth in canon: soft, crybaby, chaotic, sensitive, funny, loving, whimsical, dying to throw a rager in a deadly goddesses house.

also (advice to ppl across the world) if u guys have a lot of family members that seem to be getting radicalized lately because they're following elon musk on twitter or whatever i really recommend taking their phones and following some people you consider regular so their algorithm balances out, and involving them in less radicalizing communities like a book club or kdramas or actively engaging them with videos and articles you like.
it's really difficult to continuously expose yourself to people who parrot hateful rhetoric (even to people who don't realize they are parroting hateful rhetoric because they see it normalized all around them) but it is not possible to isolate yourself from everyone in your life, and i know many of you can't move out or don't want to. the next four years are going to be very difficult and you're going to want to put yourself in a place where you do not burn out. and while this is primarily directed at americans it also isn't because people all over the world watch and are affected by right-wing content, particularly misogyny, transphobia, homophobia and antisemitism. in fact i would say it travels even better than you think
but if you're serious about organizing and reaching out to people, and if you're serious about gearing up to "fight" or whatever you'd like to call it, you're going to need to meet people where they are. i also recognize that family is usually the most difficult place to start and not the easiest (contrary to what most people assume) so don't necessarily put yourself in a confrontational position because you will burn out quickly if you don't have your own space. in general don't put yourself in a confrontational position as a matter of habit. the key is to start conversations that can later allow for people to exit the current rabbitholes they descend into. you don't have to win any arguments, but you need to just keep conversations going, otherwise they accept their perspective as the truth. keep yourself safe but don't let yourself be cowed into silence, and recognize where people are cruel or just ignorant and remember that you can also be cruel and ignorant. and read! you're going to need to read.
Even as an asexual, I really appreciate classic paintings and statues showing nudity. There's just a sense of normalness- hardly any of them are meant to be seen as sexual. I think it's beautiful to see all of these different body types represented so beautifully. That person is just chatting to their friend. That person is picking flowers. That person is welding a weapon. None of those things are inherently sexual or arousing. But they are often portrayed as naked.
Sure, seeing genitals even in art sort of grosses me out, I don't like seeing that stuff at all. But seeing the entire human body represented in such a casual way makes me feel so much better about it.
I also think it helps to make people more confident in their bodies. You must have seen those statues of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Beauty. With her stomach rolls and smallish boobs, I have heard so many stories of people saying "Wait. She looks like me! We have the same body! I'm beautiful!" (have you seen the original Tumblr post about this?). Seeing yourself reflected in these beautiful intricate paintings and statues, its so magical.

See, this is what I love about Apollo. For the people he truly loves, he’s ready to do anything for them. Here he is, a god, an Olympian, lifting the nets of a mortal woman because he’s head over heels for her and her biceps.
when people go 'I refuse to believe that will has no other apollo talent than medicine!' my frustration kinda skyrockets bc like, he doesn't HAVE to master at poetry or do good at archery to be considered a talented apollo kid or a great character for that matter? why do people push that narrative so hard?
because people who don't feel like they belong, and try out different stuff only to come to terms with the fact that they are only masters at one particular thing they do and don't actually vibe with other activities actually exist irl??
yes. he's allowed to be a mastered expert at only one thing. it actually makes him a super authentic character to be a little mediocre in other things but a mastery in one particular field, because, not everyone is going to be great at multiple things? it's very rare in literature media tbh bc so many force their characters to be a mary/gary stu, but characters like will are actually super relatable for many readers, because some of them are burnt out/feeling like they aren't good at everything they try, which for some reason is always seen as a bad thing?? no, you can try out multiple things and still not be the best at all of them, and that's okay, you are still an awesome person who's very fun to talk to, and you are most definitely not boring, will is the perfect example for that.

It's time for me to answer your questions about this Hyacinthus iceberg meme. There is a lot to tackle, so I'll divide it into 5 parts for the sake of my sanity.
Quick disclaimer: I am NOT an expert in Greek mythology, just a fan of Hyacinthus who wants to learn about him and anyone related to him. Most of the things I'm about to discuss are just theories and speculations of a passerby on the Internet, so do not take them as valid facts!
Bonus disclaimer: We are now entering the "just a theory" section of the iceberg. While the previous parts have myths and essays to back them up, most of the sections here are theories I made up (or shared with other scholars) and might not always be supported by literature texts.

Some advice for when you’re writing and find yourself stuck in the middle of a scene:
Never delete. Never read what you’ve already written. Pass Go, collect your $200, and keep going.
This is the literal best writing advice I have ever read. Period.
Special note: “Kill someone” means kill someone in the story. Please do not kill random real life passers by every time you hit a block. My lawyer says misunderstanding writing advice is not an acceptable defense. See you all in 25 to 50 years.
@real-british-empire artifact?
Sure.
take a few minutes to donate an eSim if you have $10-34 to spare! the website gives instructions, it's easy and is a tremendous help!
Lemme re-reblog this again.
I know you see a lot of these posts, and I know eSims For Gaza in particular can trigger a specific kind of anxiety because it seems complicated.
If that is an issue you can easily donate here via crowdsourcing. It's as simple as using gofundme.

It is important for EVERYONE to know how to help ANYONE. Not everyone can give them selves their medicine under every circumstance. Be educated, help out.
In the last year, i have gotten about five new violent allergies from foods i used to be able to eat. Next time i eat a fruit, my throat could close. I may not be able to inject myself. My boyfriend and i played with my trainer pen for like 30 minutes. He knows how to inject it. I know how. This is important.
As someone with food allergies I feel like everyone should know this. Especially for those who are physically or mentally unable to stab themself with a needle for whatever reason (such as myself who has an extreme phobia of needles), others around them need to know how to administer one in case of an emergency.
I’m pinning this post
I’m mortified that this post made me realize I had no clue how epipens work.
Spreading this.
Highlighting the bit about holding it in place for at least three seconds (I usually practice five seconds, just to be safe), AND THE PART ABOUT CALLING AN AMBULANCE.
The epipen does not CURE the allergic reaction, it just hits pause. It gives the patient an extra window of time for the ambulance to get there. It’s not an indefinite pause - it’s just a temporary one. 15 minutes, if I recall correctly. So GET AN AMBULANCE THERE ASAP.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is extremely important to know and it only takes 30 seconds to learn but those 30 seconds reading saves lives

How are disabled and interracial illegal???
Interracial marriage was outlawed for the longest time, and disabled people lose government benefits when they get married so they cannot have reassurance that they will continue to LIVE if they get married.
Story time: my mom is white, dad is black. They’ve been together twenty four years, married for twenty three. When my parents were dating they did it on the low TO KEEP MY DAD SAFE.
My mom’s parents said “We don’t care who you love.” At that point she’d only ever brought home white guys. She brought my dad home-her mother called her a nigger lover and damned the relationship as much as possible. Her father grew around his prejudices after I was born but never apologized, just wasn’t a blatant fuck.
The day she introduced my father to her family was the last time she spoke to her mother for over twenty years. When I was getting sick and she called and asked her mother and grandmother if anyone in the family had anything strange happen similar what I was going through they told her “it’s because you married a black man. You made your bed, you lie in it.”
Cops pulled them over all the time and asked my mom IF SHE WAS OKAY AND IF SHE NEEDED HELP BECAUSE MY FATHER-A BLACK MAN-WAS DRIVING A 100 POUND WHITE WOMAN AROUND. HE WAS HARRASSED AND THREATED WITH ARREST.
My father ended up getting into a fight in self defence because some entitled hick decided he didn’t like seeing a black man and white woman in the bar together. Thankfully other patrons helped my father but he still couldn’t go to the er for his injuries. My mom patched him up and they were terrified the cops would take him away.
THEIR BEST FRIEND GOT LICENSED TO MARRY THEM SO THEY COULD ACTUALLY TIE THE KNOT BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WOULD AND CITED JIM CROW ERA LAW AS TO WHY.
When shopping with just me my father wouldn’t hold my hand if there was a group around. Why? I’m far lighter than him and people had stopped and asked him “whose child is that?” Or “little girl where’s your parents?” and were stunned when I grinned and pointed at my dad and proudly proclaimed “my daddy’s right here.” You know where else mixed kids couldn’t hold their parents hands? Apartheid South Africa. We live in fucking FLORIDA.
So yeah. Some history for you.
