I don't think there is one thing I can pick over the other here. I love what Once did with almost everything. Except Oz and Frozen. Go jump in a lake, you two.

Is this one a cop out... Maybe. I don't know. I honestly and truly can NOT pick a single parallel or adaptation over the others.

In this first part of their journey, Belle and Rumple are on their way to New York with Gideon. There they spend some time settling in to their lives away from Storybrooke and prepare for their long adventure as a family. Rumple has another motive, however, which he tries to keep from Belle until a group of visitors reveal themselves, forcing him to tell the truth about everything. But these visitors bring with them a new potential enemy. Will Rumple lose control of himself or will he be able to outsmart the trickiest of tricksters and his most powerful foe yet?

Timing This series fills in all the space between Gideon's first birthday and Belle's death.

Words are being written!

Now that summer is upon me, I find myself with a day's worth of time to get words into documents and throw them out into the world. My focus has been on WIPs that are nearly finished so that I can feel I've accomplished more by reducing my list. Anything to get that mental boost, am I right?

Latest chapter of City That Never Sleeps is up. The faceoff between Rumple and Puck is being written once I'm away from this page. Didn't get a huge outcry for bookstore smut, so I'm avoiding it as much as is possible for my purposes.

Taking requests for anyone who has an idea for a deal Rumple made (large or small) that you want to see undone. As in: let us explore the alternate universe created by this deal not having been made. Can't guarantee they'll make it in because I already have my plan laid out for this, but there is maybe time for one more round of this game to be put into the story.

"Gargoyles was originally released back in 1994 and ran for 78 episodes (three seasons). The show focused on a group of Scottish gargoyles that had been resurrected in New York City and had to deal with both the shock of living in the modern world and various supernatural enemies and threats. The titular gargoyles would turn to stone during the day but come to life to save the world at night with their human pal Elisa. The show was revered for its awesome world-building but was cancelled by Disney in 1997. While fans have been eager for a reboot, this game is the next best thing."

Last Night on Earth - Chapter 4

Music pulsed against Gideon as he stepped out of the busy hotel and made his way to the Temptation party. Tucked around the sharp angles of the building, the pool was somewhat hidden from immediate view and the walk from the door to the spot where everyone was gathered almost drove him to madness. He wanted to see everything at once and yet he was being forced to peer between palm trees and tiny shacks filled with towel boys, unable to see the picture as a whole until he could round the bend and catch sight of the complete chaos ahead of him.

Instantly taking to the atmosphere, Amp and Lex began to move to the beat that drew them all forward, their bodies sliding beside each other in such a sensual way that Gideon had to look elsewhere. Suddenly his mind refused to focus on anything other than his questions of gargoyle sexuality. He wanted to know if they flew while in their most intimate of embraces or if they found their pleasure in a way more like humans. Obviously they still found each other attractive in the forms they were in now, but would they act on that attraction later this evening? His mind and body ached as a multitude of scenarios flashed before him and he almost sickened at the thought of mentally imposing on their togetherness.

Admire their beauty, respect their pairing, he told himself as he paid the group’s admission fee. He was going away to school and most likely wouldn’t see his friends for several years. Their friendship needed to be cherished this week, not contorted into an act of desperation.

Chapter 1

Midnight in Central Park was usually a quiet time, filled with darkness and the occasional distant wail of a siren, but tonight, on what must have seemed like a whim, a flash of light broke through the evening, whirling and spitting as it churned through the air. It sliced into reality, bringing fire and flame with it, along with three out-of place forms, dressed in what passers by would assume to be medieval costume. As abruptly as it all began, the sparks ceased to fly and the light flashed away, taking the noise of fireworks and wind with it.

Standing among the evening shadows cast by a filling moon, a man, woman, and child shivered once against the mild chill of evening. As the woman pulled her outer layer tight around herself, the man reached into his cloak’s interior pocket and withdrew a small phone.

“I’ll call ahead, let them know we’re coming,” he said.

The woman at his side chuckled. “Since when have we ever had to make the journey alone?” She teased him as she leaned in to his side and tried to rest her chin on his shoulder even while it shifted with his movements.

“It’s only polite,” he responded, just as playfully.
