Camp NaNo, Day... Final!

Well, it has been a lovely camp, as always. I’d like to thank the always wonderful @reolf​ @emospritelet @jackabelle73 @shadowedoracle @blueboxesanddeerstalkers and @eirian-houpe for chatting it up through camp and keeping my motivation going. I might not have hit every goal that I wanted to, but today I finished chapter 15 of Forgery. Only two more to go!

A few people in the above list had works posted this month.

@reolf has been working on Pompeii and you want to devour that fic. It is a perfect mash up of history and Rumbelle that I absolutely adore and while it isn’t posted yet, I have the inside scoop that a chapter might soon be on the way. (No pressure.)

@emospritelet has been working on several things, one of which is the famous Heatstroke which everyone who follows me has probably read, but we should all go binge again.

@eirian-houpe was also a writer of many projects, but I’m going to point you all to Disparate Pathways because, well, JefFBI. 

@blueboxesanddeerstalkers​ posted Awaken and we have been promissed another chapter, so go read the first one right now!

And while you’re checking out the stuff listed above, look at their other stuff too. There are some awesome folks, both at and away from the keys.

Finally, the unfortunate word count. Shame I couldn’t get a handful more words in to bump that last 6 to a 7. Maybe this proves I was destined not to finish my other goal.

Camp NaNo, Day 29 and the Thursday Throuple

Holy cow, it is almost the end of the month! I didn’t write much today because I have been busy getting myself ready to return home, unwinding, and editing. Editing includes posting, though!

Remember how I stopped at Chapter 10 in Forgery? Well, chapter 10 was messed up in the copy and paste, so I had to fix that, but I had also already written up to chapter 14. Now I have only about half of 15 to go. Very excited to say that I’m nearly done with this thing.

The Thursday Throuple

Since I have posted chapter 11, which leaves 12, 13, and 14 ready to be posted tomorrow (hopefully) Here is a quick glimpse at each chapter.

Chapter 12 : Mostly Roni and Henry in the bar. I loved writing Regina in these scenes, both from Jacinda’s point of view and Henry’s

Chapter 13 : TWO scenes with Facilier! Absolutely LOVE writing him and I think these scenes put in a lot of his character that we really needed more of. They never really talked about him being the Shadow Man much. Lucy also gets taken and Ivy’s a manipulitive so and so, but what else is new?

Chapter 14 : Henry gets and makes a phonecall, Gideon writes a letter in the past, and in the modern age his father has a hard choice to make.

Camp NaNo, Day 28

Well, it is time for me to realize that my to do list simply isn’t going to get done. Epic fail there. I hadn’t anticipated having to ADD chapter 14 before completing 15. Well, there is always another month to keep trying.

Camp NaNo, Day 27

Only a few more days to go and I’m nowhere near where I wanted to be as far as completed works goes. I had to go back and edit too much of Forgery to even touch Atlantis. I’m still holding out hope for getting some work done on it. Maybe I will end up making it just under the wire.

If you haven’t checked out my TMI Tuesday, that’s going strong on my page somewhere or another. I’m doing it differently this week. Pick a door, make a request and see what you get. I’ve had a few takers. More are welcome. There are 9 doors with 3 outcomes in each door, plenty of spots left to fill!

Camp NaNo, Day 26 and the Monday Mountain

Well, I was all over the place today. I did some of chapter 15 of Forgery, then I realized I had to go back and work on a much earlier chapter, so it will be a while before you guys get to see anything come of all of this. Really frustrating.

The mountain I have to climb this week goes all over Forgery. I’m stomping up and down the damned thing until I get a nice path to completion. That doesn’t mean it will be finished this week, but I sure as heck wish it did.

Monday - Editing on some chapters, writing on others.

Tuesday - Will finish all scenes that need finishing and fine tuning and post what can be posted.

Wednesday - Back to writing actual chapters again, which should bring me to chapter 16 by the end of the week.

Thursday onward is going to be just finishing up with Forgery. Fingers crossed that I get to this point.

Camp Nano, Day 25

Well, I managed to reach the end of Chapter 14. Tomorrow I start work on 15. Here’s hoping I can push that one out in a day.

Camp NaNo, Day 24

I didn’t do Social Saturday today because I was super busy, but I did get some writing in. I’m happy to announce that chapter 14 of Forgery should be done tomorrow... If I can keep this steam engine rolling.

I also fixed the calendar. Has it said 5 for 25 this whole time? Ugh!

Camp NaNo, Day 23

Not feeling well today, so I threw down some editing words and called it done. I have a feeling that if things keep going the way they are going I might not finish my goals.

Camp NaNo, Day 22 and Throuple Thursday

Got a few thousand extra words in today while editing the final chapters of Forgery that haven’t been posted yet. I forgot that I’d stalled on posting that fic because of a copy error that deleted a huge chunk of my work when I transferred it to AO3. I also forgot that chapter 14 isn’t actually finished. So I will have to edit the to do list to show that. Damn and blast.

Today is Throuple Thursday, but instead of sharing three things fanfic, I’m going to share three neat Smithsonian lectures that I’ll be attending in the coming months.

Sadly there aren’t any space or geology ones on my list and I’m going to miss the lecture on Shakespeare’s London, which I was seriously looking forward to.

Camp NaNo, Day 21

The peak has been reached!

Yes, that’s the truth, with today’s editing of Forgery, I have reached my word limit for the month. Now I only have to reach my chapter goals. 

Camp NaNo, Day 20, TMI Tuesday

Can not believe we only have 11 days left! So far, so good. While my word count is much higher than I thought it would be, my list of works completed is also much lower than I wanted it to be. Hopefully I will be making up for that soon.

Today is also TMI Tuesday, which I am crap at participating in. I’m not caught up enough in reading to be able to truly dive in to asking character questions and I am so totally clueless when it comes to socializing that I just can’t work out what other personal stuff to ask. Now and then I get a spurt of genius or inspiration, but mostly I’m just bad at the whole thing.

Camp NaNo, Day 19 and the Monday Mountain

Insane day today that kept me from a lot of stuff, but not from my words! Edited quite a lot today. Still have one more bit to edit and then things will start to get posted.

So the plan for this week is to post, post, post. I mean, it will also be to write, but no reason I can’t do both.

Monday - Editing of gift almost complete.

Tuesday - Finish gift, post some stuff (hopefully)

Wednesday - Compare what is posted to what isn’t. Post what needs posting, write some of Forgery

Thursday - More  Forgery

Friday - Even more Forgery

Saturday - If I haven’t finished Forgery by now, I’m gonna try and plow through.

Sunday - Any editing and posting that needs doing.

Camp NaNo, Day 18

Just a very quick update today because I have a lot of stuff to try and get done this evening, including a lecture on birds from the Smithsonian in about 30 minutes. Realized I’ve forgotten to update my monthly word count, so that’s on here too.

Sunday Spotlight is a hard one for me to keep up with and I don’t always do one. Today is going to be one of those days.

Camp NaNo, Day 17

Today was editing day and I got all the Monthly Rumbelling done. Just waiting for beta and it will get posted, probably tomorrow or Monday. (Tomorrow is going to be a VERY busy day for me!)

Camp NaNo, Day 16 and Final Line Friday

Well, I gave myself an hour to work today and it turned out the edit I had planned took me all of 15 minutes. I think my clock is a liar because I have never edited (or just read this many words) that fast in my life. 

My plan had been to maybe edit two things today, but I think life is going to get in the way of that.

Bonus information, this weekend is the end of my summer semester, so I will have the rest of July and a week in August to pump out the words.

Final Line Friday

What I edited today: The family called out to him, but the Dark One would not turn back, could not face that direction again. Instead, with another stride, he simply winked out of the field and sent himself back to the dark place where he truly belonged.

What I edited yesterday: The road wouldn’t be a journey away from anything, she decided as she took her first stride toward the future, it would be the path that took her /to/ something. Ahead of her was a new destiny that only she could make and she was determined to make it a good one.

Remember, those lines may still change before they get posted. ;)

Camp NaNo, Day 15 and Throuple Thursday

Well, a successful day was had today. I have an edit done, so the work will be posted in a day or two. (Always have it beta read before I throw it out there.) Hopefully this weekend I will smash out some more of these and get them posted all at once. That’ll make a nice couple hours worth of work for my house elf. :p

For Throuple Thursday I was asked a question by @eirian-houpe:  What are the three things you like best about the July Rumbelling fics you've written?

I love the connection between Field and Road. I did that a couple months ago, and enjoyed how the two stories fit together, but I absolutely adore how these two mesh. I honestly just fell in love.

Any time that I can include Jefferson in a fic, I am happy to do it. I love writing him. Before I started my recent stuff I was kind of trapped in a realm that didn’t have him in it. Feels good to actually have the Golds with REAL friends.

The heartbreak in Carousel. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t revel in some anguish just a little bit.

Camp NaNo, Day 14 and the Weekly Roller

Yet another day of not my best wordage, but I have been ahead of myself so long for just this purpose. I did get to finish a chapter, though, so that counts for something. From here to the end of the week it should be editing, unless I do a huge surge of editing tomorrow and get everything done in one go.

So far I’ve managed to get quite a lot of writing done and have kept to my schedule. All of my monthly rumbellings are finished, as is the gift. It comes down to editing now and then things will get posted.
