ultimately I think the fundamental goal of “reading theory” - especially as an autodidact - is to promote your autonomy as a political thinker by putting you in touch with the different conceptual languages and frameworks that populate our lives, to reflect on your status as a political subject and what that means, and how to act on that newfound autonomy in cooperation with others. in my view the “social media” approach to “theory” has been profoundly hostile to this goal because it encourages instead rote repetition, full throated confirmation bias, and general smug incuriosity.

my mom was supposed to get a medical procedure done but they suddenly raised the copay by $75 with no warning. it took us a very long time to save the amount we had, and my mom really can't wait on doing this scan anymore. we honestly need this by the end of the month. if anyone wants some kind of proof i can provide it if asked. but any amount at all would help. thank you so much for reading. <3
