Stunning Plant Sculptures by Emeric Chantier
French artist Emeric Chantier’s latest work explores the dynamic and symbolic relationships between mankind and nature. The greenery, stems and knotted branches have been transformed into skull, weapons and human face sculptures, which are both beautiful and terrifying. By infusing external industrials materials with nature, Chantier is creating a conversation between destruction and creation as well as artifice and the organic.

Herbert James Draper (English, 1863-1920)
The Lament for Icarus, 1898
A fallen Icarus is lamented by sea nymphs. His wings are like the Bird of Paradise. The preparatory drawing lacks the drapery that happened to land just so as Icarus hurtled from the sky. The painting won the gold medal at the Exposition Universelle of Paris in 1900.
YOOO so I stumbled across this post and it was too cute not to attempt to translate into comic form. There aren’t any pages missing, I just cut out a whole lot of this segment because I wanted to focus on Carlos being mortified and secretly extremely flattered and full of butterflies (figuratively)
Fitting all that text onto a page is a challenge! A great challenge! I will break every rule! I want to draw comics f o r e v e r (◕‿◕✿)
Welcome to Nightvale is a production of Commonplace Books and you can download it on iTunes! I am not affiliated with them (however much I’d like to be) and own nothing except the drawings, haha~ text is from Episode 16 / The Phone Call, and some pictures of Sumerian cuneiform from google images.

A Vanished World - photographs of the Jewish ghettos in Kraków & Mukachevo by Roman Vishniac, 1935-1938
20 years ago today my house burned down, so I wrote a comic about it.
this is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever read, and it’s a cartoon about an inbred cat who foams at the mouth.

Welp, tears at work.
