Chapter Two : The Boy in the Woods
***
Jane has good days and bad days.
On bad days, she buries herself beneath the blankets and spends the next several hours trying to thaw out the numbness inside her: the big, blank space where her thoughts and feelings were supposed to be. On those days, Erik would stop by her room with a tray of food and refuse to leave until she ate every bite.
On good days, she would roll out of bed and make it as far as the kitchen to fix her own meals. Sometimes Erik is there. Sometimes he’s not. In between his classes at uni, Erik would drive the Odinsons to their appointments and errands. After which, he would come home pretty late.
Today is one of those days. Jane knows because he’s left her a note…

‘get the fuck back here that’s my suitcase’ - Lokane
Set after TDW.
Jane stood at the counter, trying to correct her seat for her flight to Sweden. Apparently, she’d just been bumped up to first class, which was wrong. She wasn’t a part of any special program that gave her such privileges.
The man stared at her with a disbelieving tilt to his brows.
“If you can just give me back my original seat, I would be delighted,” Jane said.
He shrugged and started typing, only to stop and stare at the computer. “Must be your lucky day. You benefited from a glitch in the system.”
Loki. She should’ve known. “It’s not luck and it’s not a glitch. Trust me.”
His face transformed into a passive mask. She knew that look. She’d seen it on her professors, peers, and the scientific community in general. They had all thought she was a few stars short of a constellation for pursuing such an unconventional path, but here she was, on her way to accept a Nobel prize in astrophysics.
“Ma'am, the flight is full, and your old seat has already been given away.”
She tapped her ticket on the counter, wondering how she could thwart the God of Mischief. He often did things like this, even though he knew it drove her crazy. If he wasn’t in hiding, disguising himself as Odin, then she’d be able to explain the situation and correct the problem.
“Can you let me know who has my old seat, so I can ask if they want to trade?”
He shook his head and went on to explain the airline’s policies when someone grabbed her suitcase. Her heart jumped to her throat. He had her laptop with all of her latest data and research. That was months of work, not backed up to anything for security reasons.
“Hey,” she called.
He didn’t turn around.
Clenching her ticket, she darted through the line of people waiting to board, and followed the tall man. His absurdly long gait made him look like he was gliding, and her look like she was a Flinstone driving a foot-powered car.
“Stop!”
Everyone’s heads moved in her direction, but no one bothered to help. Indignation spiked the hot anger already boiling inside her.
“Get the fuck back here,” she shouted at his back. “That’s my suitcase!”
The man turned around a corner, and she quickly followed suit.
One moment, the spacious, sunlit terminal filled her vision, the next it spun into a blur as she was twirled into the wall. A warm body trapped her against it. She tensed and sucked in a breath, ready to scream for help.
“Such vulgar language, my dear Jane.”
Loki.
Her bound muscles softened at the smooth timber of his voice, and yet her gaze darted around the wide corridor. Security guards were coming their way.
“You shouldn’t be here,” she told him. “You might be seen.”
He tsked her, but his lips lifted at her fretting. “I wouldn’t have had to come, if you weren’t making such a fuss over my gift.”
The sound of the guard’s boots clomping on the tiled floor and the jingling of their keys had her stomach twisting into knots. “Loki, you should go. If they find out you’re alive, Thor will come for you. Too much is at stake. We can’t forget what the future has shown—”
His mouth closed over hers, silencing her protests and igniting a fire deep in her core. She lifted to her toes and touched the smooth line of his jaw to deepen the kiss. Only the fabled ambrosia might compare to the taste of him. It made her head swim and her body float.
Nothing existed except the passionate grip he used to pull her flush to him, or his scent that filled her with desire. She fisted her hand in his hair and moaned in both pleasure and agony. She ached for him. It’d been too long since he’d torn himself away from Asgard’s preparations to visit her. Far too long.
He broke the seal of their lips and placed his forehead against hers. They panted, breathing each other in as they came down from their high.
“Expect me in your hotel room when you arrive.” He took a step back, staring at her with with a hunger that matched her own, then turned to disappear around the corner.
She fell back against the wall and glanced down at her suitcase with a wide grin.
The Chase, The Thrill (1/6)
Title: The Chase, The Thrill Chapter: Prologue Pairing: Jane Foster/Loki Rating: T Summary: Miraculous Ladybug!AU. As a high school student by day and a superhero by night, Jane Foster found it a little difficult to deal with her daily life. It didn’t even matter if the rich, mysterious, and undoubtedly handsome genius Loki Odinson was a little too nice to her; she had her hands full with a certain Cat Noir keeping her up at night.
If you're still taking prompts, Number 24 with Lokane pretty please?
“Loki, where are the towels?”
Loki glanced at the stack of fresh towels next to the bed.
“I don’t know, Jane. Have you checked the closet?”
The door burst open, revealing the always pleasing sight of Jane naked and wet.
‘A-ha!” She pointed at the towels. Stalking over, she made to grab the first one on the pile, only to freeze in place as they winked from sight.
“Not that I don’t appreciate the show,” Loki said, eyeing her nude body, “but I think you must be seeing things, my dear.”
Jane fumed at him. “Loki, give me the towels.”
“What makes you think I have them?”
“Quit playing dumb! Oh my god, do you ever get tired of these stupid little games?”
“My games are never stupid, thank you very much,” he said.
He leaned back with his eyes closed. He so loved to listen to his Jane, her little sounds of rage that reminded him of when they were in bed together. An even greater reminder came when he felt her weight drop on top of him. Her wet hair slapped his face, and he jolted.
“What in Odin’s name are you doing?” he demanded.
She grinned evilly at him as she writhed her wet body around.
“I need to dry off,” she said. “You’re the only dry thing around.”
He took her by the waist to pull her off of him. She raked her fingers over his clothed chest so hard that he could feel her nails digging through to his skin. He grit his teeth as the sensations tore through him, and suddenly he no longer wanted Jane off of him, just under him.
She gave a shout of annoyance as his clothes vanished, but then he quickly flipped them over, and the next time she cried out, it was for a very different reason.

Wed me -Lokane
It was the most beautiful sight Jane had ever seen. At least, outside of the nighttime sky, it was.
The palace’s winding halls and majestic throne room were decorated to the nines in flowers and specially made embroideries, all in the signature colors of the bride and groom. The windows were open, and on the backdrop of the endless starry sky, the golden floors and walls seemed to shine brighter. Jane could see herself in them, so clear they were.
She took a moment to adjust her hair and the top of her dress before it was time to go in. The Asgardian style dress seemed to suit her fine, but she couldn’t help thinking she stuck out like a sore thumb; just a regular human among the beautiful Aesir.
Leave it to Loki to drive that little snatch of insecurity right out of her.
“These so-called beauties are practically clones of each other,” he said with a snort. “If anything, they should worry that you will outshine them.”
It was those rare moments when Loki wasn’t a total ass (or at least channeled his total assness towards something good) that reminded Jane of why she was with him, and why she had agreed to be his wife at all.
This was a day the whole of Asgard had waited centuries for. The day their prince wed a woman truly right for him in every way. It was a day Jane was happy to share with them, if only because they were the physical embodiment of her every dream realized.
The music started, and at Sif’s signal, Jane began her walk.
All the gathered Aesir looked upon her with joy and admiration. The days in which she was a lesser being to them were long over. Through sheer intelligence and impressive innovation (she and Loki took her bifrost to get here today), she had more than proven herself to Asgard. Even Odin had had to take back that goat comment of his. Jane locked eyes with him for just a moment. His face bore no joy, but he nodded to her in a show of respect. Jane nodded back. It would have to be good enough.
She kept her eyes on Loki from there. He was beautiful in his dark green armor, his hair clean and swept back behind his ears. Though Thor was impressive beside his brother, Jane only had eyes for one. At the altar, she stood before him, flowers in hand and with nothing else on her mind but how thrilled she was to be spending her life with him.
“It’s incredible in here,” she whispered. “You think we missed out?”
“Not at all,” Loki said. “Believe me, these events are the greatest headache to plan. Eloping was the right idea.”
Jane smiled at her husband, then looked out at the doors as Sif made her entrance, and walked to the altar where a beaming Thor awaited her.
