if someone tried to perceive me I would simply not let them
rip to being interpreted but I’m different

So I’m going.

one time a stranger on neopets years ago told me “school makes you think you have to be good at everything but sometimes it’s ok to just be good at one thing. even if it’s not something you get a grade for. they don’t grade you for being a good person” and tbh i still think about it little did i know all i needed this whole time was in glowing purple text and that icon of the goth fairy

I would literally kill for a wlw movie where 1) they don’t look like straight women and that does not mean one has dyed hair it means I want a butch and 2) they’re the same fucking age
we love and support butches in this town but we do not support femme erasure! wlw who “look like straight women” are valid but we do need more diversity in wlw representation.
i’m not erasing femmes, no femme i know looks or acts like a straight woman. the women in those movies are not femmes. they don’t represent femmes or any actual lesbians at all, they represent an imaginary kind of lesbian palatable to heterosexuals: one that looks and acts like a straight woman (but occasionally kisses girls and has voyeuristic sex scenes.)
Genuine question: how do femmes look different than straight women?
I’m curious too for more expansion of this point…
femme isn’t just about performing femininity, and even if it was, femmes don’t perform it like straight women do. they couldn’t look like straight women if they tried because they subvert their femininity and perform it solely for women. as simply put as possible, femmes don’t look like straight women because they’re not straight. they’re often gender nonconforming in some way, they often dress loudly or tackily, they have their own rituals that tell men to fuck off and women to get the door for them.
idk how else to explain that lesbians and straight women differ wildly and that affects everything about us down to the way we dress, act, and present, even if we aren’t wearing all rainbow or looking visibly butch.
