Don't let the username fool you. I'm a male artist who happens to like drawing cute and colorful artworks and cartoons, plus I like building model car kits and taking photographs as well. I do sometimes take requests, but it takes me some time to fill them, so please be patient with me.

Reach Out and Embrace Someone: Riker and Troi

“Imzadi!” (”Sweetheart”, “Lover”)

When William T. Riker and Deanna Troi were reunited aboard the Enterprise-D, they resumed the close friendship/relationship they’ve had for years.  Of course Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the rest of the crew don’t mind this, as long as it didn’t interfere with their duties in Starfleet.  Troi may have gotten used to Riker’s short beard, but in “Insurrection” she made him shave it off. (This kind of behavior was caused by the metaphysic radiation coming from the rings around the Ba’Ku homeworld.) By the time “Nenesis” premiered, his beard had grown back...and he was all set to marry Troi at last, according to Betazoid tradition.  For those who don’t know, a Betazoid wedding is kind of like an Earth wedding, except for two major differences:

1. The groom takes on the bride’s surname. (So Riker will now be called William T. Troi.)

2. Everyone in the wedding, including the marriage couple, is NAKED!

If you had your choice of these weddings, which one would you want?

This is the last in my series of Valentine’s Day artworks using the base I made for just this occasion.  Hope you enjoyed them.

Keep on trekkin’

One day on the starship Enterprise, Commander Spock saw Captain Kirk walking very strangely down the corridor.

“Captain,” asked the curious Vulcan, “may I ask what you are doing?”

“Oh, just a little something I learned in my studies of Old Earth,” answered the Captain.  “They called it ‘Keep on truckin’.”

“What strange human thought of that?” Spock inquired further.

“As far as I know, someone named Robert Crumb created the concept and the walk back in the 1960s,” said Kirk.  “I think it was a way of showing optimism, happiness, and a laid-back attitude, though I’m not sure.”

After witnessing Kirk’s strange walk, Spock decided to try it himself.  “This is an inefficient way of travelling,” Spock admitted, “not to mention illogical.”

A few minutes later, Dr. McCoy stepped out of his office and noticed the two officers “truckin’” past him.  “You keep that up,” he warned, “and you’ll both end up in Sick Bay!”

“Perhaps it would be prudent not to ignore the doctor’s orders,” suggested Spock.

“Guess I’m not one to disagree with you,” admitted Kirk as the two men straightened up and continued walking normally.

This artwork was inspired by a fellow member of DeviantArt who based a similar piece on this artwork by Robert Crumb himself: http://zubeworld.com/crumbmuseum/kot.gif

The phrase “Keep on trekkin’” was used in TV ads for Star Trek back in the mid-70s.

Hope you like this, and “Keep on truckin’/trekkin’!”
