Furihata buzzes a breath between her lips, “ I guess I was in love with the idea of love. For the longest time, all I wanted was to go out with someone. “ She grasps her head between her fingers. “You know? Going out for coffee together, picking out gifts for each other, and riding the huge rainbow Ferris wheel on Odaiba. The whole shebang.” She blushes a bit at this. Akashi feels equally warmed and fascinated by this. It was a rare thing in this day and age to meet someone as purely innocent as Furihata. She looks a tad helpless. “I guess in the end it’s not what I actually wanted. I guess I’m not as much of a romantic as I thought.” She laughs a little at herself. As if it were silly to desire those things. But Akashi doesn’t find it amusing in the slightest. “Perhaps,” Akashi says. Furihata pauses at this. “Or perhaps you just didn’t find the right person to be romantic with.” She locks eyes with Furihata, just for once refusing to look away, refusing to run away like all the times before. Electric rose red meeting curious, wide sugar brown swirls. Revelation. Curiosity. And- And something else Akashi doesn't quite understand. She suddenly jolts and stares at Akashi with a widening expression, and bites her lip. Akashi frowns, and against all odds, her traitorous heart starts to beat faster. And because of this rising nervous tension within her threatening to spill out she says- “There’s nothing I wouldn’t find romantic, if I were doing it with you Furihata.” And then time stops.
