Dumped the first half of my October studies up on my Patreon, dropping a couple here also. Skin and light are two things in combination I may never fully understand, but gotdamn they’re beautiful. Think I’ll try some harder round brushes for blocking next time.
You know that thing all artists seem to do, where you practice materials and hope to god it makes it to your personal artwork? Yeah we gonna be doing that. Let’s see if my blatant overuse of brushes gives me hitherto unknown skill.
But honestly, I feel I need to do a lot more studies and a lot more personally driven work. I feel like it’s gonna be necessary in the year to come for me to unlock my art soul TM.

I left in my crappy sketches, the layers, and some notes here and there. The speed paint has all my steps separated (though not annotated past the layer description) so you can see how I set up those studies. : )
These have replaced the IRL sketchbook stuff for now, and I’ll have to move sketching into my lunch routine to make up for that at some point. Thank you guys so much for your support! I appreciate you.

I’ve been trying out different painting techniques, They’re all unfinished studies, but I thought you guys might like to see them.
