when barty was 13, he came to the realization that he was too smart and powerful to belong to the crouches. at 19, since his family was only in his way, he decided to destroy it.
he started with his father, whom he hated the most: he loved work more than his own son. and so he joined the death eaters; he tortured frank and alice; he got arrested. he knew his father would condemn him, he also knew he would bring him to trial because, well, he was his son: he had to set an example. he played the part of the terrified nineteen year old so well, he denied taking part in the torture, he begged his parents for mercy. he also cried during his first days in azkaban, despite hating the disloyal death eaters who denied voldemort. in the end, that trial ruined his father's career: in one night, he lost both his job and his son.
then, his mother. sweet, sweet mum, she had always loved him. her sacrifice was perfect: he was finally free.
and last but not least, winky. she had watched him grow up, and she was devoted to the family. she loved him deeply too, but he did not care about her at all: he didn't hesitate even for a moment before getting rid of her at the quidditch world cup.
both of his parents sacrificed everything in their power to give barty a second chance. but he, as soon as he was free from azkaban, immediately started searching for voldemort, and his father was forced to use the imperius curse on him. before his death, barty crouch sr admitted he felt responsible for the terrible choices his son made. he felt guilty. barty killed him shortly after.
it's not true that barty was just a poor child victim of abuse: he was surrounded by love, but he was incapable of understanding it. this brought him so close to voldemort, this was their true resemblance: when your family disappoints you, get rid of it and create another one.
so yes, barty was disinherited at 19. but he disowned his own family much, much earlier.
