I say fuck a lot. I like to ramble in tags. 90% is queued. Currently mostly about: 911 (Bucktommy and early seasons Buddie - I'm a multishipper at heart), Star Trek (Disco and SNW), The Mandalorian, some SamBucky, Letterkenny, Shadowhunters, Ilona Andrews books, Spartacus, houseplants, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Eclectic.

Couched In Metaphor

"You want a beer man?"

Eddie tilts a look over his shoulder, already halfway through the doorway to his kitchen, and Tommy shoots a glance at his watch. "Mmm, no can do. I'm meeting Evan in a bit."

"Is this my cue to act a fool for your attention?"

There's a moment where Tommy wants to double down on defense for Evan, but it's a joke, it's just a joke and if Evan were right next to him he'd definitely enjoy the gentle ribbing. He tries not to examine the immediate desire to defend him too closely. Too much, too soon, it's barely been a few months.

"And he's got jokes, ladies and gentlemen."

Eddie grins: wide, amused. It's what he came for - the chance to get Eddie out of his own head for a few hours. "You guys doing anything special?"

"We're on a mission to pick out a new couch, apparently."

Still reeling from the realization that bullet journaling was essentially created to be a disability aid and got legit fuckin gentrified

Like I'm at work and don't have the time to properly organize my thoughts atm but like.

-bullet journalling was invented by a man with a learning disability (99% sure it was ADHD but his website now just says learning disability so I can't be 100%) as a system for organizing his life/way to work WITH his learning disability

-the general concept is bullet point the important things you need to do and use a simple system of symbols to mark whether it's done, rescheduled, cancelled, etc. with very little fanfare, keeping it all in one notebook so you know where to easily find the information at a glance

-people pick it up and it starts getting popular

-bullet journaling becomes an aesthetic movement largely populated by white neurotypicals

-bullet journaling has turned into creating an extremely pretty notebook that has some function, but largely depends on complicated decoration and aesthetic function that takes more time to set up than is tenable for the people it was created for

-new entries to bullet journaling feel pressure to shop at particular stores, use particular brands, purchase lots of stationery purely for its aesthetic value, and prioritize the artistry of the pages rather than the information being stored on them

-people who would massively benefit from the original system can only really find information on it from members of the aesthetic movement. There is now a barrier to entry for ppl with ADHD and other similar conditions, as bullet journaling now requires a focus and motivation to start that these same people often lack or struggle to maintain consistently

-bullet journaling is no longer a disability aid and has become an aesthetic movement largely for middle class white neurotypicals, pushing out the people who the system was created for to begin with

This is the original guide from the person who made bullet journalling. Super simple. Not at all high maintenance.

It was eye-opening to rewatch this after getting used to bullet journal meaning "work of highly decorative art you might journal in if it doesn't detract from the decoration" everywhere online.

To add to this, Ryder Carroll, the creator of the original bullet journal, has a book out, as well as a website and a companion app. To be honest, his way of explaining it doesn’t work great for me personally but he created it for himself and his own ADHD, so it might resonate with some other ADHDers. The explanation I found that really got me into it was from an article on, friggin Huffington Post or something I think, plus the videos about it on HowToADHD.

if i’m to die | buck & eddie (+4x14)

look sometimes a family is just a guy, his son, his best friend, his best friend’s ex girlfriend’s dead mother’s former caregiver, their co-workers, and i guess the inexplicable girlfriends they both have for some reason.
(full credit for the video description to this genius post that i still can’t stop laughing at)

This is my very bi witchy avatar on 4thewords.com and I love her so much. I’ve had a bunch of other outfits on there, but I adore this one.

EDIT: And then I got my 2 year streak wings and needed to rethink my entire outfit so here’s my Horned Hottie Adventurer look as well :D

For those of you who like to write, and especially for those of you who are going to do NaNoWrimo, I cannot recommend 4thewords enough. It kind of gamifies writing in that you battle cute creatures with words, and there are all kinds of quests and worlds to explore. Also it reminds me a little bit of Gaia in that you can collect outfits and house items by doing quests and writing.

Through the years it’s kept me writing when I was struggling and has given me a lot of joy by sharing my adventures on there with my writing buddies.

It’s not free, but there is a 30day trial, so perfect for NaNoWrimo, and it’s honestly very cheap. Plus, there’s a community pool for people who can’t afford it, so people who want to support the site buy subscription time for the community.

It’s honestly so great and I love it so much.

Anyway, go check it out at https://4thewords.com/ and definitely hit me up if you do. I have a referral code YGHFL01921, but mostly I want to see everyone’s outfits and share the fun.
