Things have been incredibly overwhelming at work so as a distraction to not stress at home I've been gaming a lot. Dwarf Fortress, Cities Skylines... I've been building a lot.
And then I got sick so I treated myself to Planet Zoo, and boy oh boy it's so pretty and fun. Even after years of Sims 4 I suck at building, but I can put down foliage and pretty trees like a boss, and it is so satisfying to make your animals happy enough they start having kids...
So that's why I've been absent. I've made it almost completely through the career mode story (there was an evil capitalist hedgefund zoo manager I really wanted to rescue animals from - I got invested), and I'm starting to eye franchize mode, where you can build zoo's from scratch. Not sure if I'll post updates about my zoo's here, but if you see the occasional screenshot of pretty cgi-animals in the future, don't be surprised

Huh. Guess it's time to celebrate? Can't believe it's been over 12 years, and I keep coming back. On the other hand, fuck it, I genuinely enjoy it here, and there's nowhere else I can so self-indulgently enjoy the things I enjoy and am surrounded by other people also enjoying things.
Like, sure there's meta and people having thoughts and blocking is a survival tool, but overall, people are just here to have a good time and spread the love about things they have emotions about, and I think that's neat.

No surprise that the first six are still Shadowhunters related. Pleased that Spartacus, my first big fandom here*, is still on here. Amused that argh is my most used expletive, even though my tagline is "I say fuck a lot". (Fuck comes in with a respectable 791 uses, but I think it's true numbers lie in its many variations, as in fuck me up, FUCK ME UP!!, fuck it, FUCK ME etc). Amazed that apparently, I liked hockey SO MUCH that I used it more times than the combined times I was into SPN. Guess we'll need a third revival.
*Technically my first big fandom here was Glee, but when I ragequit that I deleted all of it from my blog because I wanted to burn everything from my memory.
