In Christ Alone | Celtic Worship

A beautiful Hymn even if it repeats the age-old doctrine of atonement. Is it truly necessary that (this) man satisfies the wrath of god?  In my humble opinion the cross magnifies his love - more powerful than the powers of death or hell or - in modern terms - structural evil, injustice and racism.

Think about it… Have a blessed good friday, y'all!

Hello again, friends and followers. Thanks for your support. Seems, we’ve come a long road.

It’s the 22nd day of our advent calendar.

And I think we all need some encouragement. Good company. When we think of what lies ahead of us.

So here is another old time favorite of mine.

“He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother.” By “The Hollies”:

In fact, it’s so old, think they forgot something. Who wants to write a verse for our sisters, too? Much appreciated ;)

I still remember the days, my father introduced me to gospel and soul music.

I guess i was about 14 years old and - hooked right away.

I really loved these angelic yet powerful voices.

Especially when it came to love - heavenly and earthly.

And of course when they sang songs of hope, we all can make a change - in our own lives and in the world outside.

Love has many facets.

It is particularly important to think about it at this time of year. And on that 19th day of my xmas calendar, I have a classic of black music for you!

Curtis Mayfield’s “People get ready”.

Inspiring - isn’t it?

On this evening of the 23rd of December, I chose a wonderful song by a gifted country star, who tried her very best singing a song with gospel flair. In fact, she succeeds, because she is not alone. She is supported by a magnificent gospel quartet: The Mccrary Sisters. I could say a lot about the american dream. Black and white together. Remember? But I think - we better listen to this song and let the words speak for themselves. ;)

Time flies. It flies so fast and challenges are so many, i found no time for my calendar.

But, don't worry, my next choice covers day 20 AND 21. It's a great song from Bruce Springsteen. What do i say: Huuuge!

For almost five decades the Boss and his magnificent Band(s) were my constant travel companions.

Through ups and downs.

On safe motorways and slippery slopes.

More than once their songs gave me stability and orientation. Taught me the worth of friends and good company.

Helped me stay grounded without giving up my ideals and dreams. Helped me to look forward (and up) come what may.

Yes, he means a lot to me. He and his incredible companions.

Especially when i think of all these Bosses and Bullies in the world, who only think of themselves.

So tonight, i chose an incredible version of "Oh Mary, don't you weep no more."

Raw, energetic, powerful, encouraging. A great blend of Gospel, Blues, Boogie, Jazz, Rock and Klezmer.

Who could ask for more? ;)

Hope you like it as much as i do. Maybe you want to sing along?

It's Advent 2021. Grey days (at least here in good old Germany). And i must confess - the future looks rather grim. So let's take a deep breath and - shed some light! Here's a inspiring song for for ya. Maybe you want to sing along?

Stay safe, y'all!

In the light of certain events… ;) Hello  dear friends and followers. Don’t know how many of you know the old  rite of the easter laughter. The preacher’s job at this time of the year was (and is) to make the congregation laugh to celebrate the victory of life. And because evil forces hate nothing more than a liberated laugh, that drives away fear and awakens the courage to resist. So I have a small - albeit belated - easter special for you. An arrangement of two well-known christian tunes. Really exhilarating to see the guys in action, even if the clip is a bit older. So have fun. Wish you all the best in these difficult times!
