I'm currently reading this fic. Ellie as a criminal justice student doing a podcast on cold cases. Joel is a grieving father who's daughter's case has been unsolved for the past 20 years. If you haven't read this yet, you should.

Last podcast you listened to?
I’m not really much of a podcast listener myself, but I’ve been listening to The Reappearance of Rachel Price on Audible (I’m a huge Holly Jackson fans-As Good as Dead is one of my faves) and it’s really good! I’m at the end where things finally click into place and it’s quite exciting!
What was the last fanfic you read? What did you like about it?
I read I kept hold of everything, just in case by @treadlightlymydarlinggirl!
Such a good fic! It’s set between ep 8 and 9 and focuses on Ellie trying to process everything that happened by the questions she asks Joel. It’s seriously so good! The characterization, dialogue, and exploration of trauma are all just done so well it’s wild.
What’s an article or publication you read/liked/found interesting recently?
My professor had us all read a really interesting article about gendered spaces in gaming. I don’t remember the title, but it was interesting (but VERY long😭)

Joel, she is your feral trash kitten; she has bonded with you. She was just waiting for your ass to figure it out. She will be sleeping in your shirts and chewing on your bootlaces. You're her person, get used to her pinprick nails poking you whenever she decides to climb your back so she can sit on your shoulder and hiss at people.

I know i'm just a random person you follow online but I mean it. People (all kinds of marginalised people too!) Have survived all types of horrible times and managed to find happiness eventually. If for no one else, survive for them. And also, try to survive because the people making you despair don't want you to live. Don't give this to them. Don't give your life. The best thing you can do is cling to it with everything you've got.

Ghost Ellie Returns!
“Ah, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. Come on, you gotta help me. Come on.” Ellie begs. The hands are cold on his chest, trembling. Bleary, he looks, and she’s there again, Ellie. She wavers and pales as he feels a tingling warmth against the pain. He glances down at the golden light flowing from her small hand into him. What the hell is she doing?
“Leave. Leave,” he mumbles, voice cracking.
“Shut up, Joel,” she grates as her form wavers again, pressing harder until heat swells through his entire body.
“Ellie, you can’t do this,” he groans.
“Joel, shut the fuck up!” she cries, pushing, pushing, pushing into his chest. He watches her hand plunge into his torso. When it feels like her fingers wrap themself around his heart and squeeze, the pain suddenly recedes. Ellie groans, and her shape blurs like a TV with poor reception. He can’t let her do this. She can't sacrifice herself for him.
