If Walker Scobell chooses to keep his natural hair color that’s fine. If he chooses to change it to black for the show that’s fine. If Leah Jeffries chooses to keep her natural hair that’s fine. If she chooses to dye it or get blond extensions or whatever else, that’s fine.

These are young actors. It’s more important they have a good time and act the characters well than that they change their natural appearance to fit character descriptions for an adaptation. Regardless of what you’d personally like them to do, please respect their decisions about their own bodies and support them in acting our beloved characters however they choose to do that.

Being exact about hair color is not worth more than a child’s autonomy over their own body. Leave them be.

idk why it funny to me but after seeing so much poc percy with blond white girl annabeth art i like that they just reversed it with blond white boy percy and poc annabeth ps. grover looks almost the same as i though in the books

Oh true! I didn’t think about how blond Annabeth with Black Percy was literally reversed to blond Percy with Black Annabeth…that’s fun actually. And now Black Annabeth Chase fans finally get some more Black Annabeth content!

Cool that Aryan Simhadri looks how you imagined Grover! From everything I’ve seen it sounds like he’s also got a great personality to act for Grover, and Rick also mentioned he has a good dynamic with Walker Scobell, which is fantastic because that’ll mean the Percy/Grover besties duo will come off more naturally.

Any artists, especially Black artists, who are posting Black Annabeth art right now, I encourage you to preemptively block @puterboy1, who has been posting and reblogging peoples posts about Black Annabeth complaining about how victimized they are by Annabeth not being a white blonde. This isn’t to send people to try talking to them (I doubt they’ll be receptive), it’s just to warn people so hopefully more of us won’t get these negative comments on Leah Sava Jeffries content. Examples under read more.

The actors in the PJ movies are what young fans imagined while reading PJO for the first time. The actors in the Disney+ adaptation are what older fans see upon realizing that, wait actually these characters were Literal Children the entire time.

literally nothing matters to me the way this does

[ID: An excerpt from The Lightning Thief that reads:

I caught a taxi to my mom's apartment, rang the doorbell, and there she was—my beautiful mother, smelling of peppermint and licorice, the weariness and worry evaporating from her face as soon as she saw me.
"Percy! Oh, thank goodness. Oh, my baby."
She crushed the air right out of me. We stood in the hallway as she cried and ran her hands through my hair.
I'll admit it—my eyes were a little misty, too. I was shaking, I was so relieved to see her. End ID]

I love how we’re talking about this adaptation as if it’s the first time the PJO characters will be on screen…yes let’s erase the movies on purpose ❤️ I’m not even being sarcastic, I find this hilarious.

Although technically now that I’m thinking about it, it’s objectively true that we’ve never seen the PJ kids on screen, because in the movies they weren’t actually kids. That’s part of why it feels like it’s gonna be the first time. They were so removed from who the characters are in the books and that only increased in the second movie. We’ve never seen them on screen.

image description: A screenshot of a reply to this post by @orbis-alius that says, “Sorry but ATLA fans already did that 🤭” / end ID.

It’s solidarity. ATLA fandom 🤝 PJ fandom: rejecting movie adaptations that were disappointing to majority of fans for straying too much from the source material in the wrong way. In this house we bond over adaptation failures.

Rick when pulling 10 yr old Nico from the 40s into the 21st century: look at this innocent little child…he loves card games and he is a young kid who hasn’t yet grown to have full emotional maturity, as expected of his age…even when he becomes more serious after experiencing trauma, he is still shown to have moments where he partakes in fun interests in childlike ways…..

Rick when pulling 13 yr old hazel from the 40s into the 21st century: look at this grown woman…..she is emotionally mature enough to date someone 3 years older than her and act as a motherly comforter of equal maturity to 17 & 16 yr olds….she has left most personal interests behind because of all the serious stuff she must deal with–she is Mature so she does not have time to draw for fun like she did when she was a kid!

Everybody else talks about the gray streaks and how much they want them back in canon and hate the removal of them and how much they symbolize and how much fans love them and. well I’ll be honest after I read Titan’s Curse I completely forgot about their existence and every mention of them afterwards skipped out of my brain and the first time people complained about it in fandom I went. what are you even talking about

Anyway they should cast actually disabled Grover instead of doing those mobility aid cop outs in the books & movies. He can be a satyr and still be disabled. We know a large amount of demigods are disabled, so please let’s show it for real, not just as a prop device.
