do you think Harry should've become a proffessor, or an still an auror? i'm kinda undecided on the matter

As much as I’d love to see Harry settling down to do some teaching, I’m not sure how much he’d actually enjoy it (at least in the long run). He didn’t exactly choose to teach the DA, rather, people chose HIM, as per usual, and though the same could be said for his role of fighting death eaters, I feel like he chose more in being an auror; he knew aurors who played an impactful role in his life and, under the guidance of professor McGonagall, chose the same role based on his personal strengths and interests.

He may have been a good teacher, but he never chose it. He may also not have been as bad as Ron in regards to sitting down and studying, but it still isn’t quite something he’d seek to do for the rest of his life (even the more active teaching jobs at Hogwarts requires paperwork, grading, and study). He’s a learner by experience and action, and has always enjoyed physical feats such as quidditch more than playing a part in the academic world Hermione loves.

I can see him becoming a teacher later in life, wanting to finally get some rest from fighting, but I don’t think teaching would be his first choice of profession.

I do absolutely adore the idea of him following Remus’ footsteps in being DADA teacher, though, it’s honestly a really cool concept and Harry would totally take after Remus in many parts of his teaching styles.

The thing about Harry Potter as a character is that he is insanely observant when he actually cares enough to pay attention. Meaning 90% of the stuff he deems unimportant flies over his head, but he makes these huge leaps of logic and intuition when he bothers to focus. Like in the books when it comes to anything relating to Voldemort or Death Eaters or People Not To Be Trusted (Draco, Umbridge). Growing up, he had to be able to see when a situation was going south long before the frying pan or Dudley’s fists came his way. But he also had to be able to ignore and tune out the constant flow of shit and neglect he was treated to.

If you think about it, for all the better aspects of Hogwarts, it still followed this same basic pattern. He had to pay close attention to the things trying to kill him (even classes took a back seat to this), but find a way to ignore and not acknowledge all the rumors and staring and people thinking he’s a prat or the heir of slytherin or a liar. I think this is why the arguments that Harry is a mushroom and notices nothing, and the arguments that he is deductively brilliant can exist side by side. He’s both. It’s also why, in my opinion, he tends to be ridiculously observant of Ginny once he starts to notice her as something important. She barely exists in the early narrative other than Someone to Be Saved. It’s also why Ginny can sometimes feel like she ‘comes from nowhere’ in the narrative. As far as Harry is concerned, she did come from nowhere. The switch in Harry’s brain went from Doesn’t Matter–Ignore to Very Important–Pay Close Attention, and BAM, there she was. Everywhere.

hello! i'm the anon who wondered whether you got my ask. ;) i just wanted to tell you that your version of marauders is absolutely fantastic and ask how you think the boys learnt about remus's secret. you said once that you don't usually do fanart on fanfiction because you have your own version of marauders' story in your mind and i am very curious how that happened in your version. did he tell them? did they figure it out on their own? i understand if you don't answer, 350 asks is a LOT. ;)

OOh! here you are!! :)  that’s interesting… I  always imagined that  was James  the first to get curious about Remus’ behaviour, and it was always him who began to notice that Remus was disappearing for a few days each month. I have this headcannon on James, although apparently didn’t seem, was a person who paid close attention to what was going on around him; especially if it was something about people he loved. However I believe that James started to investigate in secret, over the course of several months, being helped by Sirius. And when they finally understand what Remus was they talk to him. At the beginning,  Remus was shocked and scared…but I think James, Sirius and Peter  managed to convince Remus that he could trust them. I have this idea in mind that, to show Remus that he could trust them, they waited for him all night long awake near the Shrieking shack. they did it for several months, before Remus reassured himself and understood that they would keep the secret. I hope one day I can do a sort of comic of  the entire story I have in mind… :)
