05.07 / You are so brave and quiet.
crazy how most of us made friends on here because we were going insane about the same 2 freaks at the same time. like oh you’re up thinking about them too?
★ countdown to christmas (take two) ★ day 24 of 24: the family stone (2005) / home alone (1990) / elf (2003) / love hard (2021) / it's a wonderful life (1946) / last christmas (2019) / while you were sleeping (1995) / you've got mail (1998)
Oh Lord.
Where to start?
Audrey clams up around everyone else, but directs her frustrations at Siegfried because he's the one she's closest to?
Siegfried saves the fox against his better judgement because that's what Audrey needed from him?? (Also continues the excellent theme of Siegfried saying no to her, and then doing it anyway. See James and Dash ...)
Siegfried listened without judgement or assumption when she was ready to open up???
She slept on the sofa while Siegfried looked after the fox her. The blanket tuck? I will never recover.
Extremely emotional Siegfried when they finally hear from Edward? He was living Audrey's turmoil and relief with her.
That awkward distance between them when the others immediately embrace Audrey on the stairs, but he hangs back???
That awkward pat on the arm when she's hugging Helen???? He's unsure of his place.
We may not have got to hear him say Audrey or give her a hug or even a hand hold. But what did get was delicious.
Besides this wasn't their episode. This was all about the remarkable Mrs Hall.
Would it have killed them to write in a hug?!!!!???
“I’ve got you.” For a moment she simply breathed it the familiar scent, felt the warmth of his body against her shivering one, found comfort in his arms that he had wrapped tightly around her cold shoulders. “Thank God I found you.”
I'm stressed so again a little Snufkin.
I don't think he knows. I think he knows that he feels deep for her, but probably think it's platonic idk. I'd like to read others opinions on this.
The thing that stroke me most in the cs is the fact that he waits for her to be asleep to show tenderness and I don't know if it was intentional (to wait until she couldn't see him) or not.
I think he does know but he also doesn't know how to proceed? The realisation that he harbours feelings for her that are beyond friendship might have started after he witnessed Audrey kissing Gerald. It grew stronger throughout series 4 when the threat of the possibility of her leaving Skedale overshadowed everything. But he has denied himself to act upon it because Audrey isn't on the same page yet. First she was of course still marries and Siegfried would never have done anything to damage her reputation. Then he did not want to stand in her way when she thought she'd find a new life with Gerald.
Audrey had to grasp her own freedom after her divorce first, learn to live with the thought that she is no longer bound to an estranged husband.
Her and Siegfried are close. Very close. We saw that in the Christmas Special and we also saw it in "Surviving Siegfried" when it was Audrey who knew something was up but she didn't push him. She waited. Just like he did in the CS. They really are each other's person by now.
So I think there is one side of him that really wants to be near to her, touch her, hug her. But he cannot show it yet because there is also a lot at stake.

I don't agree with the last sentence. The rest is in point 🤣
