Fumulus, the Infestation ~~~ 3{B}

Legendary Creature - Vampire Insect

Flying, deathtouch

Whenever a player sacrifices a nontoken creature, create a 1/1 black Insect creature token with flying.

Whenever an Insect, Leech, Slug, or Worm you control attacks, defending player loses 1 life and you gain 1 life.

This is neat little bug. I like the 'batch' on it. Glad it includes Insects as it would not be that useful with just Leech, Slug, and Worm. But how many decks out there are sacrificing nontoken creatures? I like the lifeloss/lifegain on it, though.

With my interest being more on Duskmourn than Bloomburrow, I've been looking at the Horrors in Magic the Gathering. More so on the non-Phyrexian Horrors and the first Legendary non-Phyrexian Horror happens to be Greel, Mind Raker. Alas, the 'Prophecy' set and novel were before I started playing Magic. I find it interesting, though, that Greel was just a young boy whose magic abilities aged him up after feeding off the life force of others. That and the fact that Greel killed Rayne and was later killed by Barrin is all I know about him. (Thanks MTG Wiki)

But is there anything else to be known about Greel? The MTG Wiki entry says his origins are unknown. Is he a native of Dominaria or could he be from Duskmourn. After all, the set seems to have children as a theme. Probably because children are easier to frighten. But it would be interesting to see if Valgavoth would release horrors onto other planes or maybe a horror would escape Duskmourn through one of Valgavoth's doors.

If anyone can fill me on Greel, I'd appreciate it.

Legendary Plant ~~~ 2/7

Landfall - Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, create a 0/1 green Plant creature token. If you control seven or more lands with different names, create a 2/2 black Zombie creature token instead.

Land cards in your graveyard have dredge 2.

Interesting...

Okay, so with the multiversal invasion over and Omnath having been compleated, I'm curious if we'll see Averna pop up somewhere. Her backstory intrigues me and it would be interesting if the "manaquake" that caused her creation was caused by the Invasion Tree. I have an affinity for Elemental-kin and would love to find a commander for them. You know, because humanoid elementals are easier to identify with. 😉

Zimone and Dina --- BGU

Legendary Human Dryad --- 3/4

Whenever you draw your second card each turn, target opponent loses 2 life and you gain 2 life.

{T}, Sacrifice another creature: Draw a card. You may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield tapped. If you control eight or more lands, repeat this process once.

Gotta admit, I was hoping for a Killian and Dina team-up card as I am an Abzan player. And I've actually been attempting to build a deck around the two since these team-up cards were first shown. Plus, they can't make a Killian and Rootha card unless they make it a 4C card and I doubt they'll be doing that. They could make a Zimone and Rootha card, though. Maybe one day for Killian and Dina...

🎶"One of these things is not like the other. One of these things just doesn't belong."🎶

In my constant search for patterns in Magic, I have discovered that there is no creature, legendary or otherwise, that costs GGW. This is a slight that must be mended. 😜 Seriously, though, Magic needs to get their oddly costed creatures situated. Give us our MMN/MNN Legendary Creatures in all color pairs!

Geth, Thane of Contracts --- 1BB

Legendary Phyrexian Zombie --- 3/4

Other creatures you control get -1/-1.

1BB, {T}: Return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield. It gains "If this creature would leave the battlefield, exile it instead of putting it anywhere else." Activate only as a sorcery.

Here it is! 'Geth, Thane of Contracts' is the 95th card of Magic's 95th expansion set, "Phyrexia: All Will Be One". I don't know why he has an ability that gives other creatures you control -1/-1 if, in lore, the whole reason he's the Thane of Contracts is that he gives protection to weaker Phyrexians. Just don't have a lot of 1/1 creatures with this guy in the deck.

A look at just a few of the Legendary Creatures appearing in 'Phyrexia: All Will Be One'.

Geth returns with the card, "Geth, Thane of Contracts". Geth has appeared in each Mirrodin/New Phyrexia set. First, in flavor text on cards from the original Mirrodin set. Then as an actual card, Geth, Lord of the Vault, along with cards attributed to him in the Scars of Mirrodin block. **Due to leaks, I know that Geth, Thane of Contracts is card number 95, so it is the 95th card in Magic's 95th set.**

As with the Chancellors and Exarchs before them, each Sphere has a Dominus and as each Dominus has a name, they appear to be Legendary Creatures.

Atraxa makes her first appearance in a premier set as Atraxa, Grand Unifier. From the first magic story for ONE, Atraxa is also the creator of Ixhel.

Unctus, Grand Metatect shows that some Vedalken of Mirrodin/New Phyrexia have been compleated.

Vraan, Executioner Thane, also known as the Thane of Blood, ia a compleated Mirran Vampire. I am in hopes to see all the Thanes get their own card.

With all these Legendary Creatures and more to be revealed, this set looks to be quite exciting. I can't wait to see the actual cards.

'Najal, the Storm Runner' is the fourth UR Efreet in Magic history as well as the third Legendary UR Efreet behind 'Veyran, Voice of Duality' and 'Yusri, Fortune's Flame'. The one non-legendary Efreet is 'Frenetic Efreet'.

There are also four UR Djinn, none of which are legendary though I'd argue Emberwilde Caliph would be a Legendary Creature had the Legendary supertype been around since Magic's beginning.

Grolnok, the Omnivore - Legendary Frog

2GU --- 3/3

Whenever a Frog you control attacks, mill three cards.

Whenever a permanent card is put into your graveyard from your library, exile it with a croak counter on it.

You may play lands and casts spells from among cards you own in exile with croak counters on them.

I can't wait for the Legendary Creatures of Innistrad: Crimson Vow article to come out to see what this guy is all about. I wonder how this will play with Omnibian?
