Nobody exhumes sexy gothic chic as much as Morticia Addams, Here’s out guide to embrace your inner favourite, kooky Addams family member.
"...the season's poster girl, an urban warrior if ever there was one, melds her steeliness with dark beauty, resurrecting a feeling of romance." (Elle May 2012)
We hear down the grapevine that black, is a ‘play-it-safe’ colour, we disagree. We think black and dark fashion is the ultimate fashion statement. Studs, zips, safety pins, velvet, and iconography all things that ooze glamour make dressing in this style effortless, but with a big impact.
We think with lots of different trends floating about, it can make it difficult to dress, especially if you’re in a hurry before work. Dressing should be fun, and adventurous, with this trend you’ll be getting ready in half the time, but with bags of style. You can wear black head- to toe, and it will be perfectly acceptable. If your not quite ready for full impact of dark shades, this look can be softened by textures of fabrics or adding additional colours such as plum. Valentine’s day is just round the corner, it’s the perfect time to try this look and it makes dressing in layers incredibly fun. Give it a go!
Bags galore!
Accessories are our guilty pleasure (plus shoes and chocolate and few more things...). If your like us and have a twinkle in your eye every time you see beautiful bags, you won't feel so guilty when you have convinced yourself to buy your lust worthy gem!
These lovlies came in at under £40, The top image is an Edina Ronay, faux pony fur and ostrich leather bag from TKmaxx - £40. Now we know that is still quite pricey but when you think about the retail price of £199, £40 doesn't seem so bad...plus it's sooooo beautiful.
Bottom left is a vintage lizard skin bag. We know. Amazing. This is the cheapest of our bags, coming in at £4.
Feeling 90's chic!
We love the nostalgic feel of 90's dress, so playful but strong! With a mix of retro and high street you can create a look that will make you embrace your inner free spirited whippersnapper, but at the fraction of the price.
Jeans and the beautiful satin blazer were both sale items from Topshop. Patchwork Jeans £20 (bargain) when you consider a pair of vintage Levis can set you back in excess of £100! The blazer was a cheeky £36 but unique and reduced from £90, we couldn't resist.
100% wool waistcoat was a shocking £4, for pure wool that is a steal! Fantastic 70's print too, we couldn't help but swoon!
Felt fedora was £7 from H&M. We are big supporters of what H&M believe in, fantastic prices and sustainability, just fabulous!
Get handy with statement bracelet rings!
Theres nothing quite like getting your hands all dressed up, we adorn the rest of our body so why not make your hands as fabulous as your outfit! We truly understand now why Topshop went mad over harness necklaces last season, this season we're bringing harness jewellery back with these Indian and punk inspired hand chains. The great thing about these statement rings is that you can literally (and we mean that) with ANYTHING! Top tip to get the same look: layer up your bracelets and rings and get the same effect. Aspire to the punk God that is Dame vivienne Westwood and take a leaf out of her badass book.
These lovelies all come in at under £5, We searched high and low for the perfect statement pieces and found Topshop and eBay were by far the cheapest and the bloody best!

Naughty Ice-cream
As a magazine we love all things creative! As well as having an interest in fashion, we love art. If you have any you would like us to share, don't hesitate to ask!
Don't be afraid to mix up textures and patterns, but remember always work around something solid! For example, for this look, we have chosen a subtle tartan that isn't too bold,(tesco F+F £20) a soft mint green floral shirt (Jaeger £5) which oozes comfort and style (If we were to use two patterns that were bold, this look wouldn't work). To top it off we have chosen a vintage rabbit fur cape! Luxury!
Our very own pampered pooch way ahead of the A/W trends.
Barnstable is sporting a £15 victorian inspired neck ruff (excuse the pun), we think thats not a bad price for this work of art. No need to feel guilty either as its 100% recycled fabrics.
