I haven't seen a full episode of the walking dead for a few seasons now tbh. (I skim and read up on current storylines), but I'm definitely watching tonight to say goodbye to Rick and out of respect for everything Andrew has put into this show. And I'm really not ready to say goodbye to Rick even if I haven't watched for a while.

I feel like every single person who once was a fan of TWD will at the very least watch this episode, live or not, just out of respect for Andrew / Rick.
This isn’t just any episode, and it kinda warms my heart to see people coming back to see his exit. I miss when everyone used to be here to watch it together and tonight kinda feels like back then.
Idk how they’re gonna do it, and if they’ll do it justice, but the love I’ve seen for Andy is incredible.
The day has arrived. I'm finally tuning in tonight for Andy's (Rick's) departure and I'm a little scared. I'm an emotional person and I might cry because the heart of the show is leaving. I bawled when characters like Glenn, Hershel, T-dog, Merle died and was pissed off when characters like Carl, Beth, and Tyrese died but this is different in a weird way. It's like getting news that that grandparent you loved but haven't cared to see in a while has died (sorry if that was dark).
You know what makes me emotional? Seeing people who haven’t watched the show in however long tuning in tonight because of how much they care. Not necessarily about the show but the characters. It says a lot.

The walking dead has been dwindling down in quality for a while and like some other people I have seen I also fell off at their mid season finale last season I have been trying to play catch up with the rest of season 8 but it's going really slow. I feel like I HAVE to watch season 9 because it is Andy's last season and no matter the direction the show is going in I will always hold a special place in my heart for the show I fell in love with years ago and the cast, who I still follow. I completely understand where you’re coming from. I feel like a huge portion of people stopped after Glenn / Abe died, and then the rest who were hesitant were like, “fuck it” after Carl and I get it… I really do. And I also understand why you want to watch some of this season. I think that’s why they’ve been advertising his final episodes so much, which feels a bit exploitive but… whatever.
The only reason I’m still watching is because….. idk really, I have this undying loyalty and it’s not necessarily because of what the show is right now, I could care less about the storyline, but it’s what the show has given me over the years (making friends, my best friend, travelling to Atlanta, WSC, meeting cast members who have put their heart and soul into their work, the tours, live blogging with other people). I think it’s the nostalgia more than anything… but it’s also very easy to understand why people have called it quits. I don’t blame anyone one bit.
And lol! I’ve had quite a few messages from now from people who have saw me liveblogging and are glad he died haha.

I s2g the sexism and double standards in this fandom never cease to amaze in the most horrible way. You have people whining and complaining about New Maggie and how she's "turning into Negan" or that she "went too far" in killing Gregory wHEN HE TRIED TO KILL HER MULTIPLE TIMES, THIS TIME TWICE IN ONE EPISODE, AND HER BABY AND SHE CLEARLY STATED THAT SHE DIDN'T ENJOY DOING IT BUT IT HAD TO BE DONE

I said it before and I’ll say it again, comparing Maggie to the man who bashed in the head of her husband in front of her while she was sick and pregnant is a low blow. There’s no correlation with Negan and Maggie. Not even a little bit.
It has nothing to do with the Negan fans who love and enjoy his character, I truly don’t have a problem with that, of course not, it’s simply those few who make that awful comparison (I haven’t seen much of it thank god). It’s an unfair judgement.
Maggie executed someone who tried to murder her several times and threw his own people under the bus on multiple occasions. Definitely the same
you're entirely right tho like, andrew lincoln has done so much for twd he deserves for it to end with him? and i can't believe they won't end it? it's time. the walking dead has already broken my heart by going from something i loved, cherished, and looked forward to every week, to something i don't even remember to keep up with anymore. don't break my heart by becoming another supernatural too.

I agree with you though. And honestly at the VERY LEAST I could’ve accepted Carl taking over and continuing the show in his honour but they fucked that up too.
No offence to Judith but a lot of us don’t have that same affection to her the way we did Carl mainly because it was Carl we watched grow up from a young boy into a young man and seeing everything he went through from the beginning. Yeah, I know we could get the same with Judith but the show began with Rick finding his family... his son... and it felt like above all that was the centre point regardless of what happened around it. It should’ve always come back to Rick and Carl. They should’ve been the one who made it to the end (and Michonne).
I appreciate telling other people’s stories but not at the expense of Rick and that’s that on that.
