Steve Rogers x Hispanic!Reader
Summary: When the U.N. finally acquit Team Cap, Steve is more than ready to come back to the Avengers Compound and move on with saving the world. There’s just one problem in his way, and she wears back-seamed stockings.
Warnings: Language, SMUT, mentions of canon level violence, Steve being a lil mean because he’s a shit-head.
A/N: This Reader is related to Colonel Phillips, but I wrote her with the love-child of Rosario Dawson and Kerry Washington in my mind (take a deep breath, I know that’s a lot of hotness to imagine). She’s also based off of an old CO I had, to be honest, and she was a hardass, but an incredible woman.
Thank you for reading! I DON’T DO TAGLISTS.
Steve can’t help it, he grins wide as he steps out of the jet, Rhodey already moving toward him, arms opened wide and the two men embrace momentarily.
“S’good to have you back, Cap.” Steve pats the other man’s back and pulls away as the others start to shuffle out.
Rhodey greets them all in kind, bar Bucky who he firmly shakes his hand instead, and then leads them further into the Compound they hadn’t seen in so long.
Four years was a long time. The ‘Secret Avengers’, as Sam had jokingly dubbed them, had been working in and out of Wakanda for that time. Steve didn’t fight the accords so hard just to disappear, no, after they’d all healed up from Germany, they’d gotten to work, seeking out missions to take on and bad guys to take down.
Bucky had been frozen and then unfrozen, with Shuri managing to help him remove the trigger words from his brain. He’d healed a lot over the course of three years, Steve had really seen him grow. Not quite into the same Bucky that he was before, but into a healthy middle ground and for the past year and a half, he’d even begun going on missions with the team. It felt good. It felt like home.
And now that the U.S. Government, along with the U.N. had officially pardoned all of them, they were truly home, returning officially to The Avengers Compound once more.
Rhodey takes them up to the lounge, and unlike the last time Steve sat in here, the first draft of the Accords in his lap while everyone argued, this time is far more joyful. The team laughs, and talks and acquaint themselves with the people they’d missed and the new members that had been inducted in their absence.
