Oh, it’s not a bother at all! I’m super happy to help! :) I’ve linked the titles to the CDs on Amazon Japan, just in case you want to see what the artwork looks like, or you need to see the Japanese for the titles. Or you know, if you want to order them…lol.
Hirarin uses that sweet voice a LOT…which makes me all sorts of happy and full of squee, cuz I adore it so…*swoon*
I would first recommend his Shukan Soine cd. The premise is you and your boyfriend are in bed together, just talking - and you know, kissing and cuddling - and at one point, he even reads a picture book out loud to you. There’s quite a few in the series, and Hirarin’s is very sweet and gentle and he is quite vulnerable, too. It is very relaxing.
Next up is his Anata ga Ofuro de Noboseru CD. In his one, the seiyuu are the spirit of a particular onsen, and Hirarin in Misasa, which is known for it’s steam…which gives him a bit of trouble since he has glasses and whenever he gets too excited, his glasses fog up! XD It’s intensely adorable, and very sweet, but he’s also VERY awkward and spazzy, so if you are looking for something soothing…this isn’t really it. It’s uber cute, though!!
Ore ni Suru? Boku ni Suru? is a series where you are lying between two guys, one is asleep while the other one is confessing their feelings, kissing you, etc…and then it’s switched to the other side. Hirarin is the “Boku” of his CD and Toriumi Kousuke is the “Ore”. Since Tori-chan is my next bias after Hirarin, this CD was heaven for me! Hirarin’s character is soft spoken and romantic, but he is quite a tease…
Toubosha is the next CD on our list, and I just LOVE this series! It’s suspenseful and romantic all in one! And you can choose if you want a good or bad ending…guess which one I chose? LOL… Hirarin’s is about a law enforcement officer that is going after a terrorist organization and you happen to get caught in the middle. Along the way he develops feelings for you…Word of warning, though: that bad end is TERRIFYING. Hirarin is one of the most gentle seiyuu out there, but he can turn on the creepy like you wouldn’t believe. Stick to the happy ending if you want it sweet!
KissxKiss collection is a series of CDs with short snippets of situations where a couple would kiss. Hirarin is “your” big brother’s best friend and you’ve known him since you were very small. He’s always had a soft spot for you, and now that he’s tutoring you for your exams, your feelings for him surface and even an overprotective big brother won’t keep him from returning your affection!
Gyutto shite is a CD that is very like the KissxKiss cds, though instead of being about kissing, it’s about situations where you would embrace or hug someone. Don’t let that fool you in to thinking that kisses don’t happen, too, though! It’s also very similar in that his character is tutoring you, and has always thought of you like a little sister!!
Anata wo Misshitsu de torishirabe is a series where you are being “questioned” - usually in a training type session with your superior - in preparation for questioning a witness or a suspect in a crime. Usually, “your” crime is that you’ve stolen said superior’s heart…Hirarin works in the crime lab. The Japanese in this series is a bit advanced so I’m not quite as confident that I understood everything in this one, sorry, but once things get lovey-dovey…it’s all good.
Ai no Poem is a CD where Hirarin plays your former sempai of a story-writing club that you had a crush on. You’ve gone separate ways, and now he is the owner of a shop that you happen upon during a rainstorm right after you broke things off with your boyfriend. You reminisce a little, and he reads you an old story that he says you wrote for him when you were in the club together. However, it’s quite a bit more…steamy than you remember it…! (word of warning: this one isn’t r-18 per se…but there’s a bit of BDSM in “your” story (hard to explain, but there’s no sex, just some…whipping…lol)- and Hirarin uses a deeper voice to act out the hero, so this might not be exactly what you are looking for, but the moments where he is your beloved sempai are very sweet. ) And he recites a love poem - hence the title - at the end, too.
Double Score ~Narcissus~ is based on an otome game where the heroine chooses between a group of potential suitors who are all quite a bit older than she. And this is another one that I’m not sure it’s going to be exactly what you are looking for or not. Hirarin is actually two characters (with the possibility that this may just be two sides to the same person, but nothing official has said that’s the case yet…) One is a teacher, who is quite proper and refined and is (understandably) quite paranoid about anyone finding out about the two of you. The other is a host who is quite forceful and loves to tease you. Surprisingly, you seem to have more of an upper hand over the host than the teacher…lol. Hirarin pitches his voice quite differently for these two. The teacher is quite high and light, and the host goes really deep! It’s a brilliant display of how versatile he is, so I would certainly recommend it.
Kare to is another series that reminds me a lot of the Shukan soine situation. It’s all cuddles and kisses and sweet snuggles and even sweeter words. Pure fluff. I love it!
Well, so there’s a start for you!! XD Hope it wasn’t too overwhelming… There are more out there that I don’t have, I’m sure, but these are the ones that I own and adore. Let me know if you listen to any of them. I’d love to hear your take on them!!
Also, quite a few of these have free talks, where the seiyuu are answering questions and talking about the experience of recording the cds, and I recommend you listen to them as well! Hirarin’s a sweetie and uber adorkable, and his freetalks are super cute!
