Klokkenluider reviews!
"It’s with a knock at the door during a game of charades where events take an incredibly dark turn and Maskell’s debut fully comes into its own. It’s here Jenna Coleman enters the fray and steals the show as the very sweary journalist that everyone’s been waiting on."
⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Klokkenluider is actor Neil Maskell’s directorial debut and we deem it to be a very assured one indeed."
"Most of Maskell’s film is about the strenuous, stressful wait for the journalist’s arrival. There are shades of Wheatley’s dark and bleak worldview: Ewan comes to the conclusion that nothing really matters anymore, ultimately confirmed and reinforced by Jenna Coleman’s journalist Flo, who assures Ewan it probably never did, as if this would provide any comfort to anyone at all."
"It helps that the film is filled with great performances by great actors who can convincingly perform the dialogue."
"The snappy dialogue keeps things interesting enough, although very little actually happens in the middle. It never drags per se, but when Coleman’s Flo arrives, the film begins its approach to a darkly chaotic finale. Coleman must hold some kind of record of how many times a character can say any version or abbreviation of the word “cunt” in under a minute, but her role is the most fun I’ve seen the actress ever have on screen."
⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Late in the film comes an absolutely scene stealing appearance from Jenna Coleman who plays Flo, the fast talking, super sweary journalist who has been sent to take the story. It’s a universally fantastic cast selling the hell out of a very funny script."
⭐⭐⭐⭐
"The four main actors, along with a spectacularly foul-mouthed, quick-talking Jenna Coleman (The Serpent, The Sandman) as the journalist, give terrific performances that complement one another and contain impressive character work and cutting line delivery."
⭐⭐⭐✨

Ahead of the London Film Festival, at which Klokkenluider will be premiering, Variety has shared some more information about it and a clip from the film. Unfortunately, Jenna doesn't appear in it, it seems to be a somewhat early scene in the movie before Flo (the British journalist Jenna is playing) shows up.
Meanwhile, the third screening of Klokkenluider also sold out!
Jenna Coleman shared this story, originally from Stephanie Aspin on Instagram. Stephanie Aspin is a producer of Klokkenluider, which stars Jenna Coleman, and is set to premiere at the BFI London Film Festival. Originally, it was planned to be shown on the 8th and 12th of October, but the tickets for it sold out instantly, so there will be an additional screening of it!
Amazing Magazine shared some comments that Jenna Coleman made about her upcoming film, Klokkenluider, on Instagram. THis also confirms that she will be playing the British journalist:
During COVID quarantine, Jenna Coleman filmed thriller Klokkenluider – Flemish for “whistleblower” – where she, first-time director Neil Maskell and castmates Amit Shah, Sura Dohnke, Roger Evans and Tom Burke locked down in a house in Sussex for three weeks to make the movie. “It’s quite absurd, a dark, dark comedy,” she says. The film revolves around a government whistleblower who, together with his Flemish wife, is sent to a country house in west Belgium alongside two close protection officers. Coleman plays a British journalist who is sent to investigate the situation. Klokkenluider will premiere at the BFI London Film Festival this October.
