This is what I originally wanted to post but I had saved the clips where I didn't find them right away 🙃 I love these intimate clips, it just feels like you are right there with them.
The Robin fall bathing championships have started, and there is a lot of competition at even the smallest waterhole. I love watching them, they are so competitive!
The bathing quandaries of a Hermit Thrush… A lovely fall migration visitor. Too bad that the lens was splashed but thankfully he was aware and jumped right in front 😁 I love these cinnamony cuties! I only see them very rarely.
Sunday is as good as any day to watch a bird bathe, and Robins are one of the best at that. When I am editing these videos, I am often surprised how much bird movements are in tune with music. It worked so well here, I wished the video was longer. I should start a compilation video…
The livestream today comes from the bird bath, and I hope you enjoy. It is rather windy, so maybe turn the sound down. In the meantime, I heard that Orioles were seen in Michigan today, but I have seen nothing here yet. The masks in the Zazzle store are still stuck in “under review” but since it’s been more than four days now, I assume they don’t work during the weekend and they will be available tomorrow. I hope you are all doing good out there. Enjoy the water ballet! (You can find the livestream by clicking here or going to ostdrossel.com/livestream.)
I tried something new today, and while it is not perfect yet, these two cracked me up with their aggressive, competitive bathing. This is going to be fun when the bird babies take a bath :D
I am also looking forward to the new week, which in past years has been a very exciting birdwatching week in my yard. I am so ready to see some new visitors!
Splish splash... I put the camera by the bird bath yesterday. Without the macro lens, the pics don’t come out as sharp as with it, but I always love trying it in a different spot. The Starling babies look so cool with their incoming adult feathers. Stay cool, folks!
