"but women have sex organs on their chests! I don’t walk around with my pants off!"

I think what you mean to say is “women have secondary sex characteristics on their chests”, not sex organs

in which case let me remind you that your facial hair and enlarged adam’s apple are also secondary sex characteristics

if secondary sex characteristics bother you and you feel they should be covered up in public, please feel free to shove your entire head in a bag at any time

Both of those are completely okay ways to age. Emma Watson played a well loved brainiac in the movies, making it very easy for her to be liked as a regular person. Also she aged on screen so it didn’t shock the world when she became an adult. Also everyone knew she wasn’t the character she played. Miley Cyrus played a pop star in a long running tv show but she also played a fictional version of herself. She did not age on screen and like pretty much every star little girls have loved there was lots of people who didn’t like her. She is now an adult. She has a different personality than the characters she played on screen and because the character she played was supposed to be her it is hard for people to accept it.

Also the pictures chosen for this post are totally biased. Look:

Do these two pictures make them seem drastically different? And they could quickly be bias the other way.

Which one looks sweet now? So stop being a dick. Miley Cyrus is an adult who is different than the child character she played. Also in no way is she the only star that wears little clothes and acts sexual.

Also I’d like to point out that both of these women are feminist icons in their own right and would despise being compared to each other in this way.

A Guide to Terminology as used by Western Males of the Species

Prude - a woman who won’t fuck you

Dyke - a woman who won’t fuck you because you have a penis

Slut - a woman who fucks other people and not you

Tease - a woman who won’t fuck you even though she smiled at you

Feminist - a woman who won’t fuck you because she has, like, thoughts and stuff

Bitch - a woman who treats you the same as you treat women

I wish I was on my phone because I would put like a million clapping emojis under this

Seriously. Such a big issue. No one deserves to be abused; men, women, children. The world is already so fucked up, don’t be messing shit up more. Everyone is a human being, no matter their age, sex, race, or religion. Treat people with some fucking respect. Don’t abuse anyone, physically or mentally. Spread positivity and love. We have so many issues in the world, but how can we try to make the world a better, safer place when we can’t do that for our own homes.

Is that so?

Women have been a leading force in sanitation strikes, calling for equal treatment and job security. This particular service industry has been the focus of multiple feminist manifestos and employment goals. Women fought long and hard to gain the right to work in sanitation, and they’re continuing that effort to open up the field more. This issue is so big that Parks and Rec even made an episode about it.

Female sewer workers have repeatedly sued the DEP for unfair treatment, seeking to open up the industry and gain equal status with their male peers. Sewer work is often targeted for its biased hiring practices. Hundreds of female candidates fight for limited available positions, but most are turned away, despite having the necessary experience and skills. Feminist workers recognize that these women are willing and able to do the work, but aren’t getting the opportunity to gain employment here.

Historically, coal mining is one of the most highly targeted careers for gender bias. Women have been petitioning for the opportunity to mine safely since the Industrial Revolution. This is actually one of the primary and best studied examples of women fighting to enter traditionally male fields. Lots of women, who both succeeded in the mines and didn’t, continue to petition for increased access to this field

And yeah, women want white collar jobs too. Go figure - A diverse population of women, with different abilities, interests and levels of education, are all fighting for the right to seek diverse forms of employment. Fighting for equality in one sphere doesn’t mean that we’ve forgotten about the others.

Just because you aren’t paying attention to the feminist movement doesn’t mean that the feminist movement is nonexistent.

i love that barrowman’s response also distances him from the contestant "hahahaha women do laundry right john?  you with me, john?" "don’t lump me in with you, you f***ing martian”

This is what I’m talking about when I keep saying that men have to deny the endorsement. This guy wanted Barrowman’s tacit support or agreement for his sexism, as part of bonding through humour. John went nope.

In 1998, TIME Magazine declared feminism dead. Nearly 15 years later, it wondered if instead, perhaps feminism should be banned. Constantly on attack from all sides, feminism has spent the past few decades proving its importance and relevance over and over and over again. If there’s one thing history has taught us, it’s that the backlash against feminism will always be a measure of our success. That’s the thing with progress — it is far too often perceived as a threat by those who benefit from the status quo.
Indeed, as we head into December, it’s clear that the year 2014 was a historic one for feminism. Across the Internet and the world, women stood up for their rights, challenged stereotypes, fought for recognition and took control of the dialogue.
The following is a list of some of the most iconic feminist moments this year.

12-year-old girl: I don't want kids when I grow up. Society: You'll change your mind when you get older. You're only 12. You're too young to know what you want. 16-year-old girl: I'm pregnant. Society: How could you be so stupid? Do you know anything about safe sex? You should be ashamed. 20-year-old woman: I'm a single mother with an infant son. Society: You should've gone to college first. You need a stable career before you can support a child. 33-year-old woman: I'm married and my spouse and I both have stable careers. I have two young daughters now. Society: You're not staying home? Who's going to take care of them? You're just going to put them in day care while you work? That's selfish of you. You can't expect to raise decent kids with a full-time job. 45-year-old woman: I just had my first child. Society: Why would you have a child when you're that old? Do you realize the health risks of being pregnant at your age? When your kid is a teenager you'll be a senior citizen. That's inconsiderate of you. 60-year-old woman: I haven't had any children. Society: Your life must be so unfulfilling. Is there something wrong with you? Why didn't you want kids? How strange.

basically society isn't happy no matter what, so do what you want and ignore the haters

Tim Gunn on Plus Size Clothing

“Have you seen most of the plus-size sections out there? It’s horrifying. Whoever’s designing for plus-size doesn’t get it. The entire garment needs to be reconceived. You can’t just take a size 8 and make it larger. In my travels, I’ve been an advocate for larger women. I’ve been talking to designers, but only a half-dozen make an effort. Most say, ‘I don’t want a woman who’s a size 10 or 11 wearing my clothes.’ Well, shame on you! It’s not realistic

Amen. The plus sized clothing out there is crazy and makes me just…

I’m not surprised he said this. Ever since the first season, when they’ve had to do garments for everyday people who aren’t models, there’s always one designer (at the very least) who flips out as though they’ve never in their life considered that people who aren’t a size 0 might wear their clothes. Tim always looks at them like he wants to drown them in a lake.

tim gunn is my hERO

Shall we also mention how there are so many adorable/cute/sexy/pretty bras out there, but the moment it passes size medium, all you get are beige/black/white and featureless things as if regular/large sized women don’t need pretty underwear because nobody wants to see them naked anyway?

Don’t even really know this guys muuch bUT WOW HE IS MY NEW FAVORITE.

When someone is raped, you don’t validate the rapist, wish it upon yourself, or congratulate the victim. It doesn’t matter that it was a boy. Anyone is susceptible to rape.

also she’s 47

more proof that dudebros only care about the male victims of rape when they can use it to argue against feminism
