Original Groupies Beware: thieves are becoming increasingly active - you may not have noticed as it’s not on Tumblr.
I catch anyone stealing my edits/gifs, my friends gifs or anyone’s gifs I will call you out on it. I will tell everyone. And I won’t back down nor be called a liar.
If you can’t gif, there are 100’s of people willing to help you learn how. Myself being one of them. If you don’t like how you write; there are people out there willing to guide you, happily! Take the time to learn to do it yourself rather than taking other peoples hard work and getting praised for it.
Be it gifs, videos, fan fiction, anything. If you didn’t create the work you don’t deserve to reap the benefits from it.
Originalsdaily1 is a huge account on twitter known for stealing others things and blocking when you call them out for it. We need to be more proactive in stopping our community’s work being taken. Saying they only need to credit when asked, and half the time they don’t anyway.
Instagram is also a huge hub for this. Check the originals hashtag on there and you’ll be able to spot miles of stolen content.
It may seem like I’m being dramatic but I’m fully sick of seeing people getting lauded for work they simply screenshot. My work, my friends Work, Work from people I see in this tag constantly because they put so much effort into always creating new things.
It’s unfair and we need to band together to stop it.
