Felt like painting something and Bean was available.
This is a tabaxi rogue with a serious and sometimes perilous love for shiny things. Going to try the Unearthed Arcana Revived subclass because cats have nine lives so of course this one’s come back somehow.
Her name is Bean.
We played our first monthly session in this campaign last week. I quickly realized a way to game a particular part of the subclass.
The Revived Rogue, at a certain level, gains an ability to cast Speak With Dead without using spell slots/materials. This can be done once per short or long rest. In addition to the usual effects of that spell, the rogue also gets to roll 1d3 on a little table, and depending on the result, until the next short/long rest they also gain either a language of choice, proficiency in a saving throw of choice, or proficiency in a skill or with a tool of choice. As such, it becomes rather beneficial to try and find something to cast this spell on after every short or long rest.
Now, I could leave that to chance, hope to find a thing already dead or else kill a monster thing eligible for this spell (has mouth, not undead, hasn’t had this spell cast on it within 10 days).
But when the very first part of the dungeon includes an area with a lot of skulls displayed on shelves, of course I’m gonna basically stuff my pack with a few for convenience’s sake!
So yeah, Bean is now carrying four humanoid skulls for the road and the DM has already called me a gremlin. I am satisfied thus far.
