i just STILL literally  can not comprehend how someone can take undertale’s message about moral complexity and no one being truly evil, everyone’s capacity to be a good person, and then be like “preteen who killed themself is obviously manipulative demon”

I’m so tired lmao so you know what here’s some hot takes:

-Asgore can kill himself in game. He also killed six children.

-Alphys can offscreen kill herself in multiple endings and implies she was contemplating doing so in the True Lab. She also kept a bunch of people hostage in her basement for who knows how long because she was too afraid to tell anyone about it, and made a child run a death gauntlet to fulfil her anime desire of being the hero.

-Sans is universally recognised as depressed, but also goes out of his way to interrogate, threaten, and judge a literal toddler. Take care of them, will you not my fucking ass.

-Toriel is grieving for so many children. She also locked herself in a large portion of the Underground when overcrowding was already a huge problem, and for all she yells at Asgore for “you could have taken one soul and resolved this peacefully” she uhhhhh knew each soul had been taken and could’ve done it herself at Literally any time.

-Mettaton ain’t even got an excuse he just wants to kill a toddler so he can fuck off and become a star.

These are adults. All of the above are adults, with much more complex values of morality and different ways of understanding the world. They all have some huge issues and problems they have to face up to and the world is not dandy fresh for them just because Frisk let them out of the underground- the ending of the game leaves So Much unresolved for them. None of them are bad people…but boy howdy, they all fucked up. Like, significantly fucked up.

If y’all still liking them why are you blaming Actually Dead Toddlers For Everything just because one extremely biased dead toddler who just tried to destroy the world, is dying again, has proven to be an extremely unreliable narrator in the past, and is blatantly sucking up to another child so someone remembers him kindly said “ooh yeah haha they were a bad person they like, stole a candy bar once”?
