HAPPY BIPAN HUNTLOW CONFIRMATION DAY
I still haven’t watched the last two episodes lol
Have a Noceda siblings sketch that I never finished
Luz really cartwheeled into the boiling isle and swiped the brother Belos has spent the last 400 years fine tuning and I have nothing but respect for her. 😌
bird explorations (figuring out how to draw her still)
Nap with the big brother
He/they collector
Genderqueer/bi-gender papa king
TWO girlfriend kisses
Onscreen mlm kiss
Implied aladarius
a happy ending to the bi/enby couple
A happy ending to the aro/ace character
Death to the white Christian puritain
first vs last appearances
I continue to be...speechless. I'm just so in awe of this show. These siblings will have a lot to talk about
If I had to guess, based on parallels, and maybe some very interesting theories that may or may not be true, I would say hunter's fate in this story will be something akin to the bat queen's?
If he is indeed a grimwalker, or potentially a clone of a clone, or hell, even a grandson of a half-witch half-human, then simply add his desire for usefulness and a hint of being used for a distinct purpose (that is either sacrifice due to human-enough blood, or as a vessel), and you wind up with chances on how he'll be tossed aside after the fact, either due to being of no more use (and likely severely injured) or having run away to protect himself. There's just as much chance his fear of being replaced will come true, and that another grimwalker either already exists or one will be made to replace him (either because a continuation of vessels is needed, possibly suggesting Belos himself is a previous hunter now grown old OR there were backups in case hunter was a failure). Either way, kid's gonna get tossed aside or run away on his own. Period.
Meaning, he'd be in the same position as all those abandoned/runaway palismen that inhabit that forest, and given his strength and abilities (unless they try to parallel eda & lilith as well but I hope not, give the kid a Break please), then he could potentially take on a position similar to that of the bat queen, in that he becomes a protector...
But of what? I'm not sure. It definitely seems that wild magic users need protection in this realm, but if there is a successful ritual in the future, then perhaps he may be able to protect humans instead? Or if something goes wacky with the ritual, maybe he could protect humans stuck in the magic realm or witches stuck in the human realm?
I don't know, it just seems there's a lot of stuff happening with his character, but what do I know? I've been here all of one day now, haha
Now that the finale has happened, I was looking back to see if I had made any theories earlier on, and...wow, yeah, alright
I definitely felt there was a deep connection with palismen in hunter's story, so I'm glad to see how it really did come full circle, bat queen included!
Luz said “Everyone deserves time and forgiveness except Belos cause he’s a genocidal maniac” and I love her for it.
The thing that gets me is that hunter now gets to grow up doing something that very likely Caleb would have grown up to do, too, if he were ever actually given that chance
Hunter obviously is living his own life, but it's the fact that he is even able to live at all that's a miracle and wonderful and I'm sure every iteration before him is so proud of that fact
I can do this…I can do this…
I can’t do this.
Luz’s gorgeous moment of realization giving her the iconic anime sparkle eyes……..yeah.
I literally can’t stop thinking about this
y’all. y’all. this is a very, very intentional and significant gesture. ‘Cause on the surface level, they’re holding hands. They’re staying close. By a good number of cartoon standards, they’re canonically a couple. Show don’t tell, as a lot of cartoons like to say.
But if you look even deeper? Oh ho, it is so much more significant than that. They’re not holding hands, they’re not gently brushing against each other because they’re shy or new at this or whatever. No, their pinkies are interlocked. Throughout this whole arc with the Collector, starting way back in King’s Tide, this show has put an important emphasis on promises. The whole game Collector is playing is because of a broken promise, and to them, breaking a promise is a fate worse than death. You never, ever make a pinky promise with someone unless you intend to keep it forever and ever. That’s what he says, anyway.
Circling back to Hunter and Willow, just moments before this moment, they were having a conversation about worth. You’re important to me. Throughout the episode, they were continuously trying to reach out each other to prove to the other that they had worth. I don’t care who you were meant to be, because you’re one of us, now. / You [guys] are really important to me and I didn’t know how to say it. Over and over again, they tried convincing the other that it didn’t matter what others thought, because to each other, they’re the most important people in the world.
By interlocking their pinkies here, instead of hugging or kissing or even holding hands in the typical way similar to when Luz and Amity got together, they’re making a promise to each other. You’re important to me, you’re not alone, you can rely on me, I’m going to take care of you. It’s a much subtler, gentler gesture than how Luz and Amity did it, because there are much higher stakes, but by interlocking their bruised, damaged hands, they’re telling each other that stakes be damned, they want to be there for and with each other. Promises are taken very seriously in this show, and the fact that these two are willing to make those silent promises to each other so unwaveringly to each other just shows even further how much they love and want to take care of each other.
„Reliable people need someone to rely on too! Just let it out, we'll be fine!“ - Gus Porter
In case yall didnt know, Willow Park is one of my favorite characters. And I’m so glad that her arc finally came to a closure. I think it’s beautiful that this episode displayed how years of bullying and self doubt can still affect somebody, even if this person grows into a more confident and secure version of themself. Her journey of being introduced as an insecure young girl turning into a strong witch developing the toxic mentality of never showing any kind of weakness (because of the fear of being seen as incapable) is interesting and very realistic for a lot of people.
Additionally, I’m a big fan of the emerald trio and glad that Hunter and Gus were the first one to witness Willow being vulnerable. They know she needed this, and they would never think of her as weak despite of it 💚💙💛 it’s a very well written and equal trio. Much love to the writers ✨
