normally, April is Script Frenzy month for me, so it's a bit sad that it's not happening this year

nonetheless, I couldn't help but try to come up with a random play to write for the month, so I came up with a wacky plot out of nowhere at work today, and so far, it's a bit...odd?

basically, it's about a guy and girl, about 22-23 years old, going on a date for the first time after meeting through an internet dating site. The guy's name is Tom and the girl is Kelly, and the dinner date sucks and they hardly talk at all, and the guy keeps screwing everything up, and it's just bad, as far as dates go. They take a taxi to a landmark, except the driver just started this job and has no idea where he's going and gets hopelessly  lost, so they get out to try and find it themselves. And then some guy robs them of their shoes and they finally get to the landmark, only to find a clown who's contemplating suicide and they try to help him stop and that whole part was fun...

and then they find these candy wrappers, a trail of them that leads to a party where a bunch of people are dressed as bears and they dance and have fun and then make a date in about a month from then

yeah, it's crazy and random but the underlying joke is that Tom wears red and is actually a play on "Uncle Tom" and the whole play is actually about how a menstrual cycle can be chaotic and awkward and just freaking messed up.  Hence why they make a date for a month from then at the end.

laptop charger finally died on me.

This is the 5th charger I've gone thru since I bought it on Father's day, 2009.

Gah, and I was hoping this one would last the longest...because it said "THOR" on it...

But, yeah, I won't be able to update anything other than text posts until I get the new charger. (I should also tell those people on script frenzy I can't send in those commissions drawings until then, either)

Script Frenzy! I won't be able to update my script! CRAP! CRAP CRAP CRAP!

...oh, no. How am I going to keep up with the only days I have left?! CRAAAAPPPPPP

I'm not sick, therefore I can't write musicals...

So, my only issue with the musical right now is...well, I can't think of any songs to write.

Which is odd, because I usually have a bunch of them stuck in my head until I get them down...

But I think I may know why I'm having this problem... You see, I used to only write musicals when I wasn't feeling well. If I stayed home because I was sick, or felt a little under the weather, I would start writing musicals, or finishing ones I started before when I was sick. I always found it odd, because I could always tell if I was about to be sick because I'd come up with a good idea for a musical, or start thinking of a song to write.

Eventually, I broke out of it, because I needed to write one while I wasn't sick, so now I write them whenever I want. But right now, I'm having issues thinking of songs to write for the Once-ler musical. The script is coming along just fine, and I have a few places already where a good song would come in nicely, but I've got nothing to put there!

...anyone have any ideas? Or am I just kidding myself with all this? 

At this rate, I might as well just keep it as a stageplay. Maybe I'll come up with song ideas later and add them in...but right now, I've got absolutely nothing.

And The Once-ler's Mom, Aunt, and Uncle have the strangest dialogue. I have to actually STUDY southern accents (which I happen to dislike, but it's all worth it in the end, right?) in order to write the dialogue correctly. It's difficult, being from The Heartland and all, but I'm getting through it. 

Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. Maybe, if I come up with some songs to write, I'll compose them up and ask some of the people in the Once-ler fandom to sing them for me. (I'm a tenor, so I REALLY shouldn't sing my own songs!)

Ever get the feeling that no one CARES?

So, this musical is made of crazy...

I'm trying to figure out something with my musical. If the target audience is meant to be 14-25 yr olds, because in the main opening scene, within the first few lines of dialogue, the word "ass" is used instead of "donkey", is this okay? It is later used as a joke...for the Once-ler...so I want to keep the joke in there... But I also don't want to offend anyone...

Here, I'll post a little bit of the scene, and you tell me if it's offensive or not, okay?

Some doodles drawn up to help run through some scenes in my head. The "Once-ler:The Musical" is now titled "The Man Who Wanted to Rule the World: A Musical About The Once-ler". I hope that's not too long. 

Have I ever mentioned that drawing animals is NOT my strong point? I can't draw Melvin, but he's not going to be played by an actual animal, so it probably doesn't really matter...

Script Frenzy, Y U So Mean?

I have a serious problem here.

Tomorrow is Script Frenzy. Day 1.

And Seddie: The Musical might be taken down. I haven't thought about it for a while because of this Once-ler fandom overload. 

BUT...I HAVE been working on Once-ler: The Musical. (I really need a better title for that...) So...should I push myself back to write Seddie:The Musical, or should I try doing as much research as possible tonight, and get all my notes ready before midnight tonight, so I can start writing Once-ler:The Musical??

Please, tell me what to do. I'm lost to figure out what would be best right now.
