i hate whenever people say "autism and adhd are basically the same disorder" because that isn't even remotely true. autism believes a strong defense is the best offense, and focuses on keeping plays connected in order to steadily earn points, while adhd is characterized by unpredictable high risk combination attacks that prioritize scoring

My therapist: are you overwhelmed?

Me, working two full time jobs with a 3hr commute that leaves me with barely 3 hours a day left to attempt to sleep even though it usually takes at least 2 hours to fall asleep if it happens at all, barely remembering to eat without an alarm telling me to, and never having time to write or draw even though I really want to and when I get the chance I can't get anything down anyway: no, no, that can't be it

#i mean#i cant afford a vacation even though i have a shit ton of pto saved up#but we just hired new people and now my hours are fucked up bc they need to accomodate the schedule to fit them#who else is supposed to train them but me? of course im always the one to do it...#so maybe i can get a short break after theyre trained? but then i also have my other job#sigh#its just not an option#besides i hate taking breaks bc then i feel unproductive and want to die very urgently and its best to probably avoid that#probably#orbs thought bubbles

what’s funniest about the pacific rim scientists is like. when newt geiszler says he’s a scientist he means an old-timey 1910s entomologist wearing khaki shorts and a comically oversized pair of binoculars traipsing through the jungle capturing endangered species of butterfly and murmuring “egads!! fascinating…..” and scribbling it in his journal. when hermann gottlieb is being a scientist it’s literally the fucking manhattan project. tortured chainsmoking physicist. pawn of a war. repressed homosexual all his life. gets executed for being a communist. And they have to do each other’s peer review
