i feel so weird right now. A friend of mine, he's writing a book, has this awesome blog that I love reading all the time.

It's about him and his son, Austin, who has autism. I love his blog; it's awesome. 

Anyway, he apparently googled "austintistic" recently to see what would come up, and he found a journal post I had made on dA. And he PUT IT ON HIS BLOG. 

He X-ed out some parts for anonymity and some copyright stuff, but it was weird to go on there and start reading, and then kind of sit back, going, "Wait a second," and then realize that I was the one who had written it. lol

But it was neat that he had posted it! He told me to go read it because he thought I'd appreciate it. :D And I definitely do.

In my first year of college, I got a lot of compliments for my art.

But one time, someone told me, “I love your style. It’s a shame you’re fat.”

I really don’t mind any criticisms, and I relish on them to improve. But I don’t think my art should be measured by the fact that I may or may not be overweight. I don’t think anyone’s art should be.

THIS is the very reason (well, I’m not overweight, but the point is there) why I only post my artwork and writing online. I only allow people who are complete strangers and know nothing of my appearance and how I act in real life to see my artwork. Why? Because they don’t take in who you are when they judge your work. They just judge YOUR WORK, not you. I recently explained this to my fiance, and he hates it. I mean, he’s always biased, always saying “it looks good”. That’s not helpful at all, but I don’t let him see my art or read my writing very often because he KNOWS me. My family, my friends, anyone in my college classes, people on facebook (because I only friend people I know IRL)… I don’t allow any of them to see what I draw or write because they KNOW ME. 

People are too judgemental, and the internet does amazing things in helping me improve my work because I get honest opinions from others without the judgement on how I look, how I act, or just who I am in real life. 

Maybe some others should consider this, as well.

I keep thinking about my Nanowrimo story from years ago...

I think I want to pull it back out (as well as its sequel that I did the year after) and editing it and posting it on deviantart or something. I mean, it was one of my BEST works. I really love to read Romance, and I love to read and watch Comedy, and who doesn't love a little action and loads of chilling Thrillers?

Well, the story I wrote, Bland Rainbow (and its sequel, Bland Rainbow II: The Thief's Revenge) is one of my favorite stories I've ever written because it's one of my favorite genres to read! Horror/Romance. It's not often done, but I LOVED it. I love reading it, and I love writing it. I even write fanfiction in that genre. The only issue is that it's so difficult to find it. A lot of people say it's too hard to write, but I think the main thing you have to focus on...is letting the characters be happy, and then just KILL EVERYONE.

It's not THAT hard. But some people don't like to kill their characters. I don't mind, as long as it's justified. If they die for NO REASON, then it's a problem.

So, yeah, I'm thinking of bringing it back out and editing it. I wrote it so many years ago, there's bound to be errors that I didn't even try looking for. The story line was very odd, and I think I'm going to completely get rid of that suicide thing near the beginning of the story, where she keeps trying to kill herself, but she just wakes up again the next day... it's all Groundhog's Day crap, and it's overdone anyway. I'll just run from the princess being in the tower, her talking to the wise owl, and then where she kills the witch and burns down the whole place... finds her family, explain that her sister is prettier, and now is a trained assassin/princess, and then the king goes after her...and then she meets the thief, they fall in love, blah-blah-blah...

Yeah, I think I will rewrite it. I've got lots of rewrites on my list, but I'm pushing it to the front. As well as its sequel. It'll be fun. And I can maybe draw some fanart while I'm at it. ;) I'm excited now. This'll be fun. ^^
